Re: changing power outlet on pc
Take out all of the screws on the bottom. Remove the hard drive and the dvd drive. Take out the keyboard, take out the screws from the top cover, remove the screws to the lcd assembly and take that out and any wires that are connected to the lcd.
Once this is done then take the top cover off and make sure you disconnect the ribbon cables before taking off the top cover.
Then after taking off the top cover remove any screws holding down the motherboard. After you get the motherboard out then find where the dc jack is and then you can either change it out with a new one or resolder the exising one back into place.
Then when your done you can put it back together again.

Mama, You do not have to switch from the battery to power as long as the powwr adapter is plugged intp the wall socket and the laptop. When the battery goes low it starts charging while running the laptop and when not charging it runs the laptop alone. I hope that relieves you of your worries?
When you get the resume failure message, push and hold the power button until the unit turns itself off (usually around 5 seconds). Once it is turned off, press the power button again to turn it on and it should boot right into windows for you.
