You can ID the cards by seeing if the card has "V2" on the metal plate. I believe an 1800 chasis requires a V2 card.

If you are using the cd that comes with the router, that is the problem. You do not have to use the cd. Shutdown your PC. Unplug the power from the router and the cable modem.
Wait 30 sec. then plug in the power to the cable modem, wait 30 sec. then plug the power to the router. Wait till you have "Internet" light then restart your PC. The PC should pick up an IP address and you should be able to get on-line. This is if you have a cable service provider. If you have DSL, the router needs to be configured with PPOe.

Use an Ethernet cable to connect from the network-port on your computer to one of the LAN ports on the router.
Click Start

Type CMD
