SOURCE: Triton Millenium Power Shower

generally if the flow sensor notices no water through the pump it will auto matically shut the pump down. so it could be the flow sensor is bad or the pump is not working like it should. now it depends on how old the pump is. i would start with the flow sensor.

it's possible sometimes you can get brand new junk. one question is the thermo coupler in the right postion? i would check to make sure that it is indeed picking up the temp like it should.

SOURCE: cold water suply filling up header tank in loft thru hot water suply on shower.

hi did you run a seperate cold water supply from the storage tank to the shower pump & also a seperate hot supply from the hot water cylinder, it sounds as though the cold water is crossing into the hot service & pushing its way up to the tank as its the only way it can go, sounds as though the cold water connection to the shower is not tank fed & possibly directly off the water main.?

SOURCE: low water pressure

When it was installed was there any copper sweating done? If so, the valve cartridge can get fried if not removed prior to the immense heat from a torch.

SOURCE: Shower faucet does not switch to hot.

Hi,

This has happened to me in the past and had exactly the same symptoms but with a different valve. Before trying the below, it may make sense to be 100% sure that hot water is definitely getting to the valve .. can you get access to touch the hot feed pipe to make sure that it is in fact the valve at fault.

The following could be the issue:

1. The shower valve has a bit of dirt or gunk in it and is unable to allow the hot water through. It can happen with a very small amnount of dirt and is a real pain as it requires disassemble of the entire valve assembly.

2. The valve has failed and needs to be replaced - This was the solution to mine and was also significant in terms of effort.

Hope this helps, if so please leave feedback, if not let me know and I'll try and help some more!

Salamander pumps are the best and have flow switches which activate when the shower is turned on..

Hot water runs out fast after awile it gets hot again.

This sounds as if one element has failed. I always replace them in pairs. They should
be the 4500 watt element. Usually if the lower element fails this will occur as only the
top of the tank gets warm. You must shut off power at the breaker panel and make sure
at the top two connections on the upper thermostat (red and black) that there is no
power with a test light or meter.

Shut off water supply, attach hose to drain valve
open a couple of faucets or the shower and drain. If it does not drain, open the
water valve to purge the sediment and close it again. After water has drained remove
the heating elements by removing the two wires and using a water heater socket
(or 1 1/2 inch socket if you have a big socket set) and replace them.

As a side note, if you have removed the restrictor to the shower head this same
problem will occur.

Coffee machine is displaying error message "BREWUNIT BLOCKED". Have tried opening up the machine to clean it out but nothing seems to be opening or closing properly!!

Remove the brew unit and clean the shower screen under the red o-ring, There is also a tube leading from the top of that o-ring to the discharge and is attached with 2 screws, remove screws slowly DO NOT LOOSE THE SPRING AND BALL that is under the fitting, clean out tube and the hole that leads to the screen, that should clear up the problem.

Rinnai Infinity 26 hot water system set to 55 degrees with remote temp adjuster. Water only luke warm for showers. Burnner working, water & gas pressure ok. Any thoughts ... Stephen

If you aren't getting any error codes, then the heater is probably doing its job. Your problem is probably somewhere in your plumbing system. The most common reason you get this sort of problem is due to cold water mixing in the hot water system. There are a number of causes for a "cross connection" :

-Faulty check valve
-Missing check valve on reciculation return line
-Faulty shower cartridge
-Thermostatic mixing valve set too low
-Faulty thermostatic mixing valve
-Faulty anti-scald valve

The easiest way to confirm a cross connection is to: 1) shutoff the cold water entering the tankless heater 2) open hot water valves around the house. If you still have water flowing at your hot water fixtures, then you have a cross connection.

Power Washer has no pressure, any ideas

1. If you have an inlet chemical injection valve make sure that the hose is intact and that the valve is closed.
2. Purge all air from the line by holding the nozzle actuation lever open until all air has been purged. When you connect the water supply hose turn it on before connecting the high pressure hose and let the unit self purge to the pump outlet high pressure hose fitting. Then connect the high pressure hose.
3. You could have a stuck spring and ball inside the high pressure head of the pump. You can tip the unit on its' side and add a substantial amount of WD-40 to the water supply hose fitting in an attempt to free the springs and balls.
4. Try BRIEFLY running the unit without the hose connected to see if there is high pressure water ejected from the high pressure fitting.
5. Inlet water screen at hose connection is clogged (hose screen and rubber) Check screen for debris.
6. The water strainer is clogged. (Almost looks like an LPG regulator just after but in line of the supply hose connection to the pump)

Order of troubleshooting

1, 2, 5, 6, 4, then 3.

Thanks for using FixYa!

No cold water, Only hot water in showers.

The plumbers screwed up when they installed your showers. There are two connections on each shower. one for hot and one for cold. they connected the two hot water lines together with a T fitting and then ran a line to the main hot water line and tied it in. Then they connected the two cold water fittings with a T and ran that line to the main hot water line and tied it in there instead of into a cold water line like they were suppose to. This is the only possible logical solution to this problem. They tied your cold water connections to both showers into a hot water line instead of a cold water line.
