Why are all the lights on LCD screen on?

How to troubleshoot and fix video problems
Here are some tips and tricks for troubleshooting and fixing laptop video problems. Video issues are very common within portable computers and with the following tips you should be able to detect and eliminate basic laptop video problems.
Laptop LCD screen has a faint image.

all-lights-lcd-screen-4ztirbadqll2ypvmakqp10pq-2-0.jpg
Look at the LCD screen very closely and check if you can see a faint image on the screen. It's possible that the LCD lid close switch stuck in the "closed" position and the backlight stays off even when you open the LCD screen or turn on the laptop. The switch turns off the backlight when you close the LCD display to save the laptop battery power. Check the LCD lid close switch. Usually it is a small plastic pin located close to the LCD hinges. Try to tap on the switch a few times to turn on the backlight. If after tapping on the LCD lid close switch the backlight stays on, you fixed the problem.
It is also possible that after tapping on the LCD lid close switch the backlight works fine, you see a normal video on the screen for some time and then the backlight turns itself off again. In this case I would blame the FL inverter board. Try to reseat cables on both end of the FL inverter to make a better contact between the cables and the FL inverter board. If it doesn't help I would try to replace the FL inverter board.
Laptop LCD screen is solid white color.

Most likely it is just a bad connection between the LCD display and the system board. I would try reseating the video cable connector on the back of the LCD screen first and check if it fixes the problem. After that I would try reseating the video cable connector on the system board. I would also try reseating cables if there is no video on the LCD screen at all.

Try to connect the LCD screen to an external monitor. If the external video is fine, you have a problem with the LCD screen or the LCD video cable. You can try to fix the problem by reseating the video cable on the back of the LCD and on the system board.
If you see the same garbled video output on the external monitor most likely it is not the LCD screen problem. In this case the system board (with onboard video) is bad or the video card is bad.

GOOD LUCK.

15' macboo pro 2008 15' screen problem. Colors turn negatitive when screen is tilted a certain way.

sounds like the video cable is pinched in the hinges. This was really common with first generation macbook air. iFixit.com has guides for disassembling, but you'll quite likely need a new video cable.

My HP Pavillion G6 laptop screen goes black if not tilted in two certain positions

Sounds like the cable feeding the inverter is either faulty or has a bad connection. You will need to take the laptop to bits. See utube video.

The screen on what make and model device?

Jul 10, 2013 | Computers & Internet

Laptop screen flickering

The video inverter may be failing, BUT...

More than likely the backlight is failing. If you can still see a VERY faint image on the screen this is almost certainly the problem. This is a very difficult fix. I recommend a replacement LCD.

It MIGHT be a bad lcd cable. With the laptop on, slowly open it from closed to open and back again and see if there is a position where the laptop screen does not flicker or turn off, [or if it does turn off if it turns back on.

If the screen goes COMPLETELY black then your GPU is failing.

Screen burry wih clors

remove the cable from the monitor and check whether you get the no connection display in the monitor if you get that connect the monitor to the computer and switch on the computer still if you have blue color in the monitor move the monitor cable up and down slowly and see whether the color changes if the color changes the problem is with the cable from the monitor

Toshiba laptop screen is flickering and showing different colors especially where green is showed on the screen

hello

This different color thing happen due to only loose connector, either at the LCD end or at the mother board end.

so if you have some experience with hardware you can open up and check the connectors and see if they have to be replaced or just need to fix properly.

Thank you

Laptop shutdown when screen was move

I would suspect that you have an LCD cable problem. Either it has an intermittent open that is caused by the repetitive flexing of the cable by opening and closing the lid, or the connector on the end of the cable needs to be reseated.
Hope this helps.
