Do you mean IAC. This is the Idle Air Control Valve and would be what you need to replace.
The Idle Air Control (IAC) valve is an electric actuator controlled by the engine computer, which regulates the engine's idle speed. A faulty IAC valve will make the engine idle rough and possibly stall.

You might try cleaning the air intake especially the backside of the butterfly valve. with choke cleaner or a special cleaner made for that purpose. Remove the hose between the air filter body and the air intake. Open the butterfly valve and spray both sides of the valve as well as the sides of the intake. If that doesn't work you'll have to dig deeper. You'll probably need to monitor sensor in that case.

I would clean the idle speed control valve (IAC) and the throttle valve and bore with CRC brand throttle valve cleaner, use about 1/2 of the can, hold the idle up so it won't die while you spray it into the throttle valve. After you are done disconnect the battery negative (-) cable for 5 min's and then drive it for a few days so the system can relearn the idle strategy for your driving habits

Car dies on decel no codes

Hi!
It would help to have the model, year and engine since different years use different sensors and output actuators. With no codes present, i would look at the IAC valve (idle air control) assuming your model has one. This valve serves two purposes. One is to control the idle, and the second is to act as whats known a dashpot on older vehicles. It keeps the idle slightly higher so the vehicle doesn't stall when decelerating.

The valve is located near the throttle body and is controlled by the vehicles computer. It's usually easy to install and normally fastened by two screws. The part cost could be from $40 - $200, again depending on the model.

The only surefire way to diagnose this would be to install a scan tool and monitor sensors and the IAC duty cycle commanded by the computer. Good luck, if you want to add some more info I may be able to help a bit more.

How can I tell if I need a new air idle control valve?
If your car has a rough idle or the idle cycles up and down, then chances are that you have a bad idle control valve. On modern vehicles, the purpose of the idle air control valve is to regulate your idle, and keep the idle smooth. The idle valve is controlled by the ECU or the computer, and when in gear the idle should be between 800 and 1000 rpm, and not in gear, between 700 and 900 rpm

Perform a valve clearance inspection and adjust if necessary. Tight or sticking valves will cause a misfire or rough running concern. Note: Perform valve adjustment when the engine is stone cold. 4cyl: INT 0.26mm EXH: 0.30mm (V6 engine are hydraulic and no adjust necessary.) Also check for a sticking or stuck open EGR valve. For diagnostic purposes only: Remove the EGR valve. Place a business card over the EGR passage and bolt the EGR valve back on. This plugs the EGR ports and if the misfire goes away the EGR valve is partially stuck open and is defective.
Check for low fuel pressure. Check for low compression. Check cam timing. Check for a weak ignition coil. Also don't over look the possibility of worn or broken engine mounts which cause excessive engine movement and engine vibration. -hope this helps
