Need replacement ink cartridge

Each time the cartridge is removed from the printer an "empty cartridge" message appears and a blinking amber light will come on, on the printer. Holding the paper feed button down for 3-5 sec. will allow you to override the counter.

I have the same problem with my PIXMA IP 3300. The ink cartridges have 4 electrical contacts on the front. I think the ink level gauge is controlled with these contacts. This is probably just another ploy from Canon to stop you from refillng these cartridges. If anyone knows a way around this , please let me know

Because these a refills inks the Chip things they are full so you must
replace the cartridge with a new Canon one and the fault will go. If not just replace the chip with a new one!
Then your error u150 will go.

I believe you have to press resume to get the non chipped carts to work.At this time there ar no resets available other than the resume.
You will void your warranty.
Call Canon and tell them the printer is not working and take advantage of your 1 year warranty and only use Canon inks from now on or until reset is available.
If you want you can mention that you USED non Canon ink.

How to install or remove ink cartridges
To print normally, install or remove ink cartridges in an
orderly procedure.
How to install ink cartridges
1. After confirming that the printer is powered on, open the
front cover. The ink cartridge holder moves to the replacement position.
2. Take out an new cartridge from its casing and gently
remove the orange protective tape in the direction of an arrow.
Caution:
Do not attempt to reattach the protective tape once you have removed
it. Do not touch the gold electrical contacts or the print head after
removing the protective tape.
3. Insert the color cartridge into the right slot and then
the black cartridge into the left slot.
Note:
Push up on the nearest side of the cartridge until it clicks into
place.
4. Confirm that the ink cartridges are installed properly.
(A) The ink cartridge is not installed properly.
(B) The ink cartridge is installed properly.
5. Close the front cover. Wait until the preparatory
operation is complete; it takes about one to two minutes.

front cover. The ink cartridge holder moves to the replacement position.
2. Remove the ink cartridges.
Note:
Handle the ink cartridges carefully to avoid staining clothes and
surrounding work area.
