Unplug the set and a box or receiver if used from power for several minutes and plug them back---cannot hurt and may allow set, box etc to reboot and work again.

Sony tv screen turns green

Use the remote control to go into your TV picture settings menu and change the mode to NATURAL. It's also a good idea to check that all of your cables are in good shaped and tightly connected.

The green color could signify that your TV is magnetized. This can cause colors to draw out to the corners of the screen. Remove any magnetizing devices, like speakers, away from the TV and see if that helps.

For more solutions, read the troubleshooting steps outlined in TV color problems. I hope this helps!

Picture Rolls

anteetina,

most probably your problem is within color system settings. It's either PAL/NTSC or PAL SECAM signals being produced by your player.

1) try to check your TV screen with regards to color system it use, check the color setting if it does indicate "Auto" "PAL" or "NTSC" try to choose "auto" and see if any changes will occur.

note: you can also check the service manual of your DVD player of what color system it produce and if it's match with your TV screen

cheers.

TV turns on and then, after a few seconds, picture changes to "double vision".

Projection sets have two very common problems.

The first common problem is convergence

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture
