How do I repair poor response in a computer?

Try these operations:
- do a virus check to make sure your system is virus-free - if it is virus-free, do a disk defragmant and run the ScanDisk utility - if this doesn't solve your problem, do a system restore to an earlier point in time, when you knew it was working fine

A signalling problem of course. Have you fitted it to the Data cable properly? Check the Jumper Settings if it has Jumper Cables. Make sure it receives proper Power, enough to function well. Check BIOS settings to know whether the Rom is Detected.
You can try this while you are in the Windows as well. To check for errors you have to get the "Event Viewer".
  • Press Start menu and Click on Run.
  • Type in this and hit Enter.
  • Eventvwr.msc
  • If you see any error under the Category "System", related to CD Rom please le t me know.
  • You have to check the Device Manager as well. If there are any errors Related to the Rom you will see a Red X or a Yellow Exclamation marl near the Device (!). To get the Device Manager you have to Right click on "My Computer" icon and go to "Manage". (Or type devmgmt.msc in Run box and hit Enter)
  • Then click on Device Manager.
  • If you see any errors let me know.
  • Finally you have to check the Storage. Get the Device Manager again. (Or type diskmgmt.msc in Run box and hit Enter).
  • Go to the Properties if it Shows the Rom.
  • Check whether the Device is in use. Check whether it is DISABLED. If disabled, Select "Use this device (Enable)" to Enable it.
  • Make sure that you don't have Viruses (or a Corrupted antivirus Suite) or Corrupted Nero Installation.

One additional check. Make sure Plug and Play services are Running. You will see (if errors occurred) in the Event Viewer. You can check whether the Service is Disabled by Navigating to the Services Snap-in.
  • Type this in the Run box and hit Enter
  • services.msc
  • Scroll and look for Plug and Play. If its Disabled: Go to Properties and Set it to Automatic.
Hope this will solve you the issue.

If you have system restore disk you start with the one that is numbered disk 1 put it in your cd rom and restart machine it will do the rest and will ask for disk 2 etc.. If your backup cd's do not contain the operating system you may have to buy a new operating system and install, as for the listening to music part there may have been a virus or corrupted data on the song you downloaded after restore takes place you may want to install virus protection and scan for virus' if you do not have a virus scanner there are several free the most popular being avgfree at this website

Cd dvd rom not working it says driver missing or corupted so i uninstalled it to allow vista to reload but still no luck keeping getting same message

I had a similar problem after a virus attack on yahoo messenger affected my cd-rom driver ...and pretty much all the rest ..but first it ...I tried to reinstall but no luck ...until I reinstalled the pc with a clean install I mean from the disk and formatting the C partition ...I didnt get anything ..but it worked after ..this is what I suggest too ..
but first I suspect it to be disabled too ..restoring factory defaults in the Bios will be a good thing too...
also you might try to look for it in the hardware manager ...and try to install it downloading its driver ...and than run the wizard for installing from there ...just click update driver ...if it will be in yellow with an ask sign it means that has no driver ..
but ..reinstalling clean its still the right way ...Keep in mind that installing from a recovery stored in another partition ..might not do the job ..cause either it sees it disabled...or ..the virus that cause it not dissapear ..and restores the damages..

Brand new computer and i did not install the adobe it came with the computer Vista basic and i get the 1311 error message when i try to run adobe computer 1 day old !

no big problm if u comp is new r old...

When you try to install Adobe Acrobat 6, 7, 8, or 3D on Windows, the installer returns the error message "Error [1311, 1335 or 2350]. Source file not found: [drive name]:\ Adobe Acrobat [version]\ Verify that the file exists and that you can access it." If you click Retry, the installer returns the error message "Cannot find the file Adobe Acrobat [version]\"
Solution Perform one or more of the following solutions:
Solution 1: Check the Acrobat CD-ROM.

Make sure that the CD-ROM from which you are installing is free of dirt and debris. If necessary, clean the CD-ROM with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Solution 2: Temporarily disable anti-virus software, and then install Acrobat.

For instructions, see the documentation for the anti-virus software or contact the manufacturer.
Solution 3: Extract the compressed installation files, and then install Acrobat.

  1. Right-click the folder and choose Extract All.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. To install Acrobat, double-click the Setup.exe file located in the folder that contains the extracted files.
Solution 4: Uninstall the CD-ROM drive and let Windows redetect it, and then install Acrobat.

  1. Right-click My Computer and choose Properties.
  2. Click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
  3. Expand the DVD/CD-ROM drives section.
  4. Right-click each device listed under DVD/CD-ROM drives and choose Uninstall. Click OK to confirm.
  5. Close Device Manager and restart the computer.
  6. After Windows redetects the DVD/CD-ROM drive(s), insert the Acrobat CD into the CD-ROM drive and install Acrobat.
Solution 5: Install Acrobat from the desktop.

  1. Insert the Acrobat CD into the CD-ROM drive.
  2. Copy the Acrobat folder from the Acrobat CD to the Desktop.
  3. Double-click setup.exe in the Acrobat folder on the Desktop, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
Additional Information Errors 1311, 1335, and 2350 occur when the Acrobat installer is unable to access the necessary files from the CD-ROM drive. These same errors may also occur if antivirus software interferes with an installation or if the installation files are compressed.

thank u sir,, if u feel i helped u, then plz vote/rate me with good marks..thank u!!

The quickest solution would be to try a System Restore back to Tuesday of last week or earlier. You can find System Restore under Start Button->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools

Re: Need to do a factory restore

REcovery discs can do the task by restoring it to the factory setting. you can insert it directly to the DVD/CD ROM and then boot the pc to the ROM. and the follow the onscreen instruction.

however; if you have recovery disk then you have to provide windows installation disk and install it to the your hard drive.

installation of windows information is found here:

may this help you.
