My TV picture is very wavy and has vertical lines that flicker quite a bit. It's far to bad to actually watch something like this. I've tested out all of the inputs and they all give the same result. The audio works just fine. The on screen display also works just fine. It also turns on and off and seems to perform all other functions just fine. If somebody could point me in the right direction, I'd like to get this TV working again. Thanks
The hyperboard solution by premtech worked perfectly. FYI, the board can be refurbished on your own, provided you are able to handle soldering small surface mount components.
Let us know if the Hyper board fixes it.
Premtech -How do we email you privately? I just put a new post, Toshiba 50HDX82 flickering......I may have this problem but do not know?
Premtech - I have the same problem with my 57H82 and would like your help on two things:
1) please mail me the link to the service manual. My email address is [email protected]. Thanks!
2) for the surface mount cap replacements, can you reply with confirmation that it is just the 16v/10uf that need replacement, the quantity of them, and where you recommend ordering them from online (part # from that recommended vendor would be welcome as well).
Thanks!
We have a Toshiba 57H82 with Chasis # TAC0265. It is about 4 1/2 years old. When turning it on the whole screen is a mess (wiggly etc...) and after a few minutes it gets a little better. The top 12 inches wiggles and a white vertical line on the right side appears. I have been reading the comments and have opened up the front of the television and see the metal box which houses the "HYPERBOARD"....My question is what would be the approxx cost to get a new board and is it easy to instal (pops in once the metal box comes off)? Live up in good ol B.C., Canada so even with the dollar at par I imagine it is going to cost a lot more up here!! LOL Thanks, Doug.
Premtech can you please send me a copy of the service manual i am also having the same problem i am trying to locate a board but having a hard time everyone is out of stock my e-mail is [email protected] i have a 82h65 or it could be 65h82 toshiba 65" i know the scan converter # is 23148024 thanks
This is a somewhat common problem having to do with the hyper module, Toshiba p/n#23148024 There are a gouping of 16v/10uf caps in the hyper board that fail causing the distoritions you're describing here. At first, as the module begins to go bad the distoritions are present and usuallly go away or fade significantly as the set warms up - - this gets worse until the distoritions don't go away at all... From what you're saying you're at stage three already. :) You have a few of options: (1) local repair shop pull the board and replace the caps or module; (2) Pull the module yourself and repair or send it in for board level repair; or (3) pull the hyper baord, order a new one and put it in yourself. For 2 or 3 you'll be better off having the service manual and if you need it just email me privately and I'll send it. Make sure in your request to tell me the model number and reference something of this repair so I have a clue of what you need. BTW the hyper board is on the left side of the unit mounted vertical on the signal board inside a metal can. Good Luck Bill
Sent link to service manual and schematics to your [email protected] address via Pando.. You will need to download Pando to retrieve them - Pando is free and most techs use it for sending large multiple files, up to 1 gig free...
Good Luck

I don't seem to be able to email you but I'd love a copy of the service manual. [email protected]
Big thank you from the great white north!

Dougers, I am next door, in Alberta. I have fixed my hyperboard by replacing the surface mount caps myself in my workshop for a fraction of the cost of a replacement board.
Premtech, I too have the same provle with my 57H82 Toshiba rear projection tv. Can you too send me the service manual ([email protected]), and advise me how I can send you the hyperboard??? to fix, or intrructions on how to fix the 'caps' myself.
The lines/wavyness is getting worse.
Help
Thanks in advance,
Frank
I recently purchased a used 50H82 with the same exact problem for $50 with the intent of fixing it and placing it in a rec room for the kids to watch movies, play video games, etc.
I was able to find the 50H81 sevice manual online (not a commercial site) and wonder if it would be at all applicable. If not, I might need to access a newer one and wonder if the 57" and 50" models use the same service manual.
Also, perhaps a little more info regarding how to go about betting parts and the actual steps taken for an intermediate do-it-yourselfer.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. [email protected]
Please e-mail me the diagram as well. I don't have much electronics experiance but I would like to be able to pull the board and send it out for repair. Thanks!
