I purchased two plastic hose splicers and used them to combine the original silicon hose to the new vinal hose. The silicon hose then reattached to the heating coil and the vinal hose attached to the cooler area of the unit. The vinal would have melted on the coil. Problem solved.

Try a auto parts store they should have what you need for a fraction of the cost of parts at a service/ repair center. Mike

Leaks water from bottom

Is it really from the BOTTOM, or is it spilling out the overflow holes in the back, then running down to the counter? If it's just spilling out the overflow holes, don't put quite so much water into it.

If it's really leaking from the bottom, and it happens even if you put only one or two cups of water into it, then the little hose running from the heating element inside up to the top filter has cracked or come off. You can fix that by opening the bottom of the coffeemaker (UNPLUGGED FROM THE WALL). You'll see where the rubber hose connects to the heating element and runs up along the rear tank. Check the connection where it attaches to the heating element.

This water heater has two elements, correct?? Well how do you get them out?

The first thing to do is shut off power supply to the heater. Then while water is still on hook up garden hose to drain valve on bottom of heater. Place hose to floor drain or some other location for safe drainage. Open drain valve and if it starts draining at a good rate then shut water supply valve off to heater. You will want to open hot side of closest faucet to prevent vacumn which will slow or stop draining. After heater is done draining shut off drain valve and faucet . Remove the cover plates on top and bottpm of heater. Usually four small screws. Locate heating elements and disconnect wiring, label if you need to for reinstallation. There are two kinds of heating elements, one is held in place with 4 hex head bolts, and the other is screwed in. If yours has the bolts carefully remove to avoid breaking bolts. Then just pull out to remove To reinstall there will be a new rubber gasket with element, fit it in place and insert element back in heater. Reconnect wires. If there are no bolts apparent then the element screws into heater. You will need a pipe wrench or large wrench to remove the element. The same thing with this element is that it should have a new rubber gasket. Put gasket in place and wrap threads with 5 to 6 wraps of teflon tape. Install element and tighten snugly. Connect wires, refill with water and check for leaks. If no leaks then turn power back on. Put cover plates back on and you're done. I hope this helps you. Thanks

How do i change the element in my water heater

The most important step is to turn the power off. If you still have the manual it is the best to follow the instructions provided in a book.

If not, learn about electric water heaters, how to test the heating elements, how they work and are they OK, than follow the instructions:

Once the power is off, turn the water supply off, attach the hose and drain the water heater.

Unscrew the terminals from the heating element and unbolt the elements from the water heater.

New heating elements has to be with same specs as the old one.

Before turning the water heater on it is VERY IMPORTANT to refill the tank.

Hot water does not last long. Model 82vh40-2 mnf. 05/2005

If the lower heating element burns out the upper element will heat the top part of the tank then shutoff. homw depot/lowes etc should carry elements. 1 turn off breaker, remove element access cover (the 2 panels on the front of the heater) test for electricity at the reset button ( uppermost device in upper panel) to make sure power is off. 2 turn off water (I usually turn off the cold water main to stop water cross feeding into hot supply line back into heater) 3 disconnect the 2 wires on the lower element, test with continuity tester. shhould be no continuity between terminals and tank, but around 10 ohms between the 2 terminals. Check the thermostat for continuity if tank is cold thermostat should be closed ie zero ohms across the 2 terminals.
If stat is bad replace stat; disconnect wires push it up out of the spring clip insert new stat reconnect. If element is bad: drain tank. connect garden hose to tank drain valve, open tank drain valve turn water main on to clear rust sediment and get water flowing. Next remove filter screen from a hot water faucet then turn on ( a hot faucet upstairs or higher than tank drain). Now turn water main off, air will now go in through hot faucet and tank will drain, takes about an hour. Use a water heater element wrench about$10 to remove element(s) make sure no bits of rubber gasket are left in element opening- dig em out with a screwdriver if needed. Insert new element with its gasket and tighten. reconnect wires DO NOT TURN ON ELECTRICITY! BE SURE TO FILL WATER HEATER WITH WATER ! Turn water main back on -air will come out of the hot faucet for several minutes. When water runs without any air sputtering, turn off faucet and replace the faucet filter screen. check element(s) for leaks. turn breaker back on.

Water level below heating element and element does not appear to heat

Make sure the drain hose high loop is installed properly, normally you have this in the sink cabinet high up. Otherwise the water inside the machine may drain "by itself", leaking through the inactive drain pump during the wash cycle and cause this and other troubles.

F05 machine means "Pressure switch jammed"

Try first cutting power to the machine for two minutes, if that reset the code, then the problem was temporary.

If not :

Check if the machine drained, or if water is not being drained.

If drain system works .take off the the lid , locate the switch, it must have a small hose attached.
Remove the rubber hose attached to it, and unlock it by blowing into the hose.

If the water does not drain, this will also cause the pressure switch error.
In this case check the drain hose , and the drain pump.

Finally, ta faulty timer control board can cause the error, you test the control PCB if lid switch and drain system are OK.
