Even if the CRT's are identical the circuits in the set may be different resulting in bow or width issues----too much of a difference and you could have a failure of the set.

Only if same exact model, same CRT do you have a chance--and many of the yokes are Bonded to the tubes which means it cannot be swapped.

Color of green in upper right corner and lower left corner

Hello; You probably have a CRT type set. Something has magnetized your CRT/Picture tube. The set has a built in degaussing system that will only work when you turn on the set when it is COLD ONLY. If after several cycles of turning on the COLD set and the green color hasn't gone, the circuit in the set for doing this has failed, OR you have the set near strong magnets, such as speakers. PUT ALL speakers at least 4 feet from the set and go through these off on COLD cycles. The deflection yoke on the picture tube could have moved due to Sony using crappy adhesives to hold the yoke positioning wedges in place. I am so glad to be done with Sony!!!!! John

Dear sir i have samsung 21 inch flat television now horizontal drive transistor fails after few hours i replaced 3 times the same transistor(tt2222) but again geting fails so pls let me know what is...

Hello
You just replace the freewheeling capacitor, normally come up to a value of 5600pf 2000V or so, connected to the collector of the horizontal output transistor, fitted very close to the collector lead. Replace the yoke return capacitor, 0.33uf or so also. Usually samsung sets use no heatsink for the horizontal output transistor. You just put a small heatsink to it and check. If it doesn't overheat, you can remove it later.
You can suspect the deflection yoke also for shorted winding. To check this. pull out the CRT base board out of the neck of the picture tube, place it where it doesn't get short circuited, and unplug the deflection yoke connection from the main board, and switch on the set. See whether the transistor overheats now. If it doesn't overheat, suspect the deflection yoke for shorted turns of winding inside it. Till the transistor overheats, suspect the LOT.
NOTE: Never switch on the set while unpluging the deflection yoke connection plug from the circuit board, without dismandling the CRT base board. CRT may get damaged, with a black burned spot inside the center of the screen.
OK.

Tv screen goes black

VS 50801 and VS 60801 mitsubishi models (I have one each) have both had this problem develop after about 10 years of service. The picture simply started "Blinking" off after collapsing to a horizontal line - audio was still present. A simple fix to this problem is to space the yoke connector (7-pin white "Molex-type") away from the neck of the CRT (~1/8 ") . I used a plastic insulator. My 60" set had a problem with the center CRT (green) connector and thye 50" set had the same problem on the connector on the Left (red) yoke connector. The TV senses an open yoke circuit and shuts down all deflection drive. I only want a few more years of service from these sets, otherwise I would resolder the connector on the PCB for a correct and permanent solution.

Vertical Yoke

The vertical yoke plugs have DY stamped on the board next too the wire plug. Its located on the main PCB on the far right side looking in the rear of the set. Arcing in the CRT can be many different things such as a defective HV lead to the CRT or even a bad ground on the CRT drive Circuit board which is attached to the bottom of each CRT.

York Coil Problem - TXN2726 27 TV

The part you want is called a "yoke", and not a "York". This is the electromagnetic coil that fits on to the neck of the CRT, and makes the magnetic field from the scan amplfiers to scan the the beam.

I don't know if you realize that when changing the yoke, the purity and convergence alignment will have to be done on the set. This is a job task that requires skill and a lot of practice. Not many service techs are very good at this type of setup. There are specific calibration patterns used for this type of setup. When changing the yoke, it is very common that the ring magnet assembly (convergenc and purity magnets) that is behind the yoke must also be changed. Some yokes come with this assembly together, depending on the model of yoke.

Some manufactures do not sell the yoke separately from the CRT. When the CRT is replaced, it comes with the yoke and magnetic assembly.

An interesting question would be is, how did you determine that the yoke is actualy bad??? It is extremely rare that this type of part fails.

Parts for CRT type sets are getting very scarce. Because the market for spare parts for CRT sets is decreasing very quickly, the clone part manufactures are also not making the generic type dedicated parts.

A way to have parts for your TV set would be to search for a used set that can be used for spare parts. You will have to hope that the same parts you need are also not defective in the used set.

In my opinion, if the yoke is actualy bad, I would be shopping for a new set rather than go through all this trouble. The LCD TV sets are excellent. There is no way that your CRT set will ever be able to perform like the new LCD sets.

Slanting Picture

The yoke has probably come loose and tilted.. From the rear of the set looking on the back of the crt you'll find a copper wire wound magnet called the yoke. It terminates on the neck of the yoke with a clamp. With the set off slightly loosen the clamp and turn the yoke assembly in the opposite direction - key word here is slightly - and apply power to check the alignment.
Keep doing this until you achieve the alignment you want. And always remember to unplug the set between attempts.

Adjusting CRT yoke for convergence

You shold not have to move the yoke. if the set will not adjust, find the problem in the convergence. It is probably an IC starting to fail. Good Luck
