Question about Car Audio & Video

Open Question

Just bought Toyota Camry (1998 - 2002) 6-Disc Changer - USA Spec. It came with a cable that is male at one end and the other end is blocked female (does not match).. instead of male (8-pin) at both ends (which is the type the car came with).. And I have not been able to enjoy my car music since I can't get the right cable. And the orignal one that came with the car does not work on the new 6-CD Changer.

SOURCE: Need pinout for USA SPEC SCD-A88 CD changer

Sorry to hear it I had same prob with vw88e tried to email usa spec and get pin out but no results.. had to get the screwdrivers.. DO THIS ON A CLEAR TABLE WITH GOOD LIGHT !!face pops off easy enough ya gotta have 3 hands to gently hold ones youve popped and work the others then 6 little screws 3 on each side.. CAREFUL not to drop the little sliders for mounting in car they have springs that pull them out of thier home and they **** to get back in remove the top.you should be looking at the top now and can see the cartridge..and a little bit of the cd that was last playing.
there's a large gear.. with a pin in a half moon with a little flat tail lookin slot. if the pin is in the little flat area, carefully spin the gear until its out of flat and around to top of moon. cd that was playing is now in cartridge.. on the bottom in the back is another little gear (Between the mechanical case and outer shell) carefully spin that gear until the disk selector is all the way down (if it goes up or doesn't move spin the other way) keep spinning until cartridge ejects if you want reassemble if you just wanted disks toss it as is if reassembling just go reverse face plate goes on last

How to Connect Coaxial Cable Connectors?

Put the male end into the female end. If both ends are the same gender then you'll need to use a gender changer on one of them.

What should I do to make f-pin coax coupler I bought (to link two coax cables to extend the range of my cable box) receive and display cable programs?

Female to female couplers will only connect to a male plug either side. If the two plugs are female you won't be able to do it, till you either change to two males or get a male to male coupler!

I would like to know what adapter (DVI to VGA Cable Adapter) I need to connect to a Macintosh G4. Thanks

Without knowing what Model Number of MAC G4 you're referring to, I can only give you generic information.

If your MAC G4 has a DVI port it is generally the female style.
The DVI connector on the adapter will need to be a male DVI style.

The VGA end of the adapter will be either male, or female. Most VGA connectors on a monitor cable have a male VGA end.

(The DVI end will have the pins sticking out on the adapter. The VGA end will have the socket holes)

Also stated as the monitor cable end will be a DVI male. The port {Connection} on the computer is a VGA female)

Example of a DVI male to VGA female adapter,

http://sewelldirect.com/dviaftovgam.asp

Barring that you need the other style of DVI to VGA adapter, (DVI female on the monitor cable, VGA male on the computer), this is an example,

[ Note* The newer VGA connectors are also known as an HD-15 connector.
More information on the Video Graphics Array connector,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector

More information on the DVI connector styles, and the Digital Visual Interface technology,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface

If you should find all of this confusing, simply state in a Comment as to what connector is on the end of the monitor cable, and what connector is at the computer.

State whether the connectors are Male (Pins sticking out), or Female (Socket holes)

I just got a new Optoma HD20 and only after 1day of use it is not showing HDMI signal, although it is showing VGA signal. Why is this?

Hi miracles4all: I solved HDMI signal issue in my Optoma HD20. In my case it was the lack of contact between the HDMI cable plug male ending and the Optoma HD20 HDMI female port. My 35ft cable plug male HDMI ending was not completely "seating" in the Optoma HD20 HDMI female port. I solved the problem by purchasing a HDMI female to female coupler and adding a 3ft HDMI cable that had a slim male ending. This 3ft HDMI extension cable made better contact to the Optoma HDMI port and the projector was immediately able to detect HDMI signal. Hope this helps you... kaufmanekpr

Everything is unplugged, I just need a wiring schematic to plug everything back in

Does the motherboard have a "purple" socket?
Does your keyboard have a "purple" end?
If so, join the male to the female,
rotating the male until the stiff pins line-up with the holes.

Does the motherboard have a "green" socket?
Does your mouse have a "green" end?
If so, join the male to the female.

The end on the monitor's video-cable has 3 rows of pins;
there's only one place on the computer with 3 rows of holes.
Notice that the sides of the male are tapered,
so that it only fits ONE way into the female.

Similarly, the female end on the power-cord is tapered,
so that it only fits ONE way into the back of the computer.
Note where it connects -- there may be a "rocker" switch,
with a '1' and a '0' on the ends of the rocker.
Press the '0' end down before you reconnect everything.
Press the '1' end down after everything has been reconnected.

Do your PC speakers have a green tip?
If so, then connect the male from the speakers to the green female socket.

Connect PS2 to Portable DVD Player?

I've done this before, i had to buy double female R.C.A. connectors (3) of them sold individually if I remember correctly, and then proceed to connect the 3 "male" ends from the PS2 cables to the 3 double "female" connectors i bought (best buy, meijer, radio shack, etc.) and then connect the 3 "male" ends of the R.C.A. cables that came supplied with my portable DVD player to the other end of the 3 "female" connectors, and finally connected the other end of the (DVD supplied) cable into the portable DVD player. hope this helps, and i apologize if it sounds a bit confusing, just trying to be as thorough (i have no idea if i spelled that right) as possible. Keep me posted if this helps!
