Check to see if you are in KBII or a language mode if not look for bent or broken spokes on the printwheel.

My Canon QS 310 typewriter has been programmed to type letters instead of numbers. How do I get the numbers back?


Turn off machine. Let it sit for one minute. Hold down ALT and CTRL key with left thumb and forefinger while striking letter a with right forefinger. Hopefully, this will "de-confuse" memory.

How do i correct one digit at a time. I only seem to be able to correct one word at a time.


Hold down code and press the correction button to switch from word correct to character correct and back. Note to correct one character only you can simply use the backspace key.

What model typewriter do you have? Most have a setting key on the keyboard, usually on the left side to change keyboard or printwheel settings.

The shift key is typing the right character on the numbers row


Look for key or slide switch that says KBii press the code and that key or move the switck.

Smith Corona SD 250


I have a Smith Corona wordsmith 250. The Daisy wheel is not aligned with the striker, it is two characters off. How do I fix this alignment??

Brother ML-500 Typewriter Typing the wrong characters


The printwheel is not in correctly. the printwheel has a bent spoke or the printwheel homing sensor needs cleaning. Lawrence

Open the top cover and you will see a switch on th right side that allows you to select alternate keyboards. Make sure it is set to the #1 position
