I can't find any info on restore/recovery for your computer. In Windows XP open My Computer, C would be your main partition, do you see D as a small partition? I'm not sure, if it's there, how to boot to restore page, HP is F-11 for instance at boot. You can try to reboot and start at F-1 and continue through to F-12, one after another. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Everex rs2800 recovery

When you start up the computer there should be something in the boot up that says press this key to restore or something like that before you get to windows. The rs2800 has a secondary partition that has all of the files and windows installations to restore the PC back to factory install.

Need to reinstall windows xp

You would want to access the recovery partition. This can be accomplished by pressing the 'F10' or the 'R' key when the system boots. This should load the system recovery tool and you will see a dialog box for conducting a "nondestructive system recovery". If you wish to restore the machine to factory condition (this will not include anything you installed since the original purchase, so you may wish to backup any files you wish to save before conducting this process) you will want to select "next" and wait to be prompted for confirmation and select "yes". When the process is complete the system reboots.

In the case where you seek to conduct a "destructive system recovery" you can select the 'advance' option from the initial dialog prompt in the system recovery and following the prompts as before. If you select this option it will delete the user partition of your hard drive, so unless you have experience formatting HD and installing Windows XP, I would suggest not choosing this option.

How do I restore factory settings on my AMD 64 processor 3400 .I have windows XP but at the moment my optical drive will not read CDROM program discs only DVD's.

Unfortunately you will have to buy an external cd/dvd drive simply because windows xp has no built in recovery partitions you will need the recovery cds to perform a factory recovery.

Everex restore cd wont boot

Is your Boot ROM set to allow booting from CD?
Have you tried to boot from another bootable CD, like the Window install disk, a game, a linux install disk, etc? If you can, your drive is at least operable. Check that you don't have the option of retoring from a partition (usually hidden, but seen by the restore program). At that point I would contact Everex for a new CD restore disk (get your proof of purchase and serial info out).

For future reference, please always backup your restore partition as outlined in your user guide, using HIGH QUALITY MEDIA, and do it TWICE! CDs sooner or later ALWAYS fail.

I have two partitions and I only want one

The recovery disk does it automatically. If you want to just hav eone partition, you need to manually reinstall windows. You need to have a windows reinstallation cd. Boot from it. It will give you an option on how you want the partitions to be created.

For windows xp, you can refer to this link.
For windows vista, click this.

Recovery partition - repair

You have obviously deleted the partition that the laptop could recover from but usually if you are supplied a cd to recover windows, there is normally a drivers folder within the cd but not the aplications, such as anti virus although these are only for a trial period. for things like microsoft works if supplied, are normally on a seperate cd. Without knowledge of your partition software, you should be able to partition the HDD and then copy the files from one drive to another, but the restore may not work as the system files may not weave together when you come to restore. I would imagine it's only the drivers that's youre main concern, which you can install from your other laptop.
