You can purchase one from a computer shop or on the Internet.
Hard drives can be IDE/PATA or SATA, make sure you purchase the correct type for your Phillips desktop computer.

if you require the drivers for your system go to the manufacturing website and download them.

if you need the recovery discs ,again contact the manufacturer, they will charge you for it.

if you only need the operating system disc ,sorry you have to pay for it ,at any pc outlet.

hope this helps you

That's because "not booting" only relates to the hard drive after you have eliminated the power cord, power supply, motherboard, memory and CPU of the computer. Eliminate those 5 things and in the process you will have found your answer.

SOURCE: i have a dell desk top computer what type of hard

Since you've not specified whether your Dell supports SATA or IDE. Please open it and check it whether it has IDE Slots and cable or
SATA cable and slots.
bad4060.jpg429ffb6.jpgIf it supports Sata, buy SATA Hard drive otherwise buy IDE.
For a monitor just buy any, either flat screen or Cathod Ray

How to retrieve any information from the hard drive when the computer system stops working

you will need to get an external hard drive enclosure. you can pick this up from or
make sure you get an internal IDE instead of SATA which I believe you have since the hard drive is only 4.3 GB. look for a IDE to USB hard drive enclosure. They do have multiple inputs like IDE/SATA to USB if you want.

What is the Model of the original hard drive in the Model 5012 Desk top computerr?

This actually could vary quite a bit. Most computer manufacturer's will not place a specific model of hard drive into a computer now days, so long as it meets the same standards as the one they originally stock it with.
Your best bet, would be to open the side panel, by removing the small thumbscrews in the back (if they're not thumbscrews, then they're phillips head more than likely) then power down the computer, and disconnect the media cable , and power cable from the hard drive, then look on top of the har drive itself. IF the hard drive is missing, then only someone that of which has owned one could tell you one of the varying parts that are contained within it. Even xbox 360's for example, do not use the same brand, or model dvd drive, only the same speed, and connection type. Good luck, Dracconus

I have an asus eeepc and the windows startup window keeps going over and over without going to the desk top

boot loops usually indicate 1 of 2 thinks
- a corrupt or damage operation system
-a bad hard drive

unfortunately, i know these netbooks don't have a disc drive, but if you have access to an external one, see if you can get your hands on a hardware testing program like drive fitness test. if that passes, you know your operating system needs to be reinstalled.

My desk top hv no sound

ur motherboard has a disk containing the drivers needed for components like the vga card.. sound card (if integrated onto the motherboard), local area network (LAN) work.. this disk probably came along with ur computer.. unfortunately.. when you formatted th hard drive and reinstalled windows u got rid of all these drivers and they must be re-installed in order for these components to work..

if there is no disk present you can download drivers straight from the manufacturers website by typing in th make and model name of the sound card..or of the motherboard if p.c has a soundcard integrated onto the motherboard) into the address bar (the bar at the top normally..this begins with http://) you can find these details by going to start > all progs > system tools > system information > components > sound.. this will display the name and model etc of th card.. once on the manufacturers website there is usually a link for downloads to follow..

alternatively go to start > control panel > system > hardware > open "device manager" > once open look in the list for any yellow explanation marks anywhere..right click on any item showing this and delete..then restart the pc.. once it has restarted th pc will automatically detect new hardware and look for drivers.. often the best move now would be to rollback the drivers when given the option but this wont work after a disk format because th format clears th hard drive of everything..including updates and drivers so.. if you DO have a disk supplied with your pc carrying the required drivers (most new pc's will have this supplied with several other disks required to install software or applications...... this is far the easiest method of installing drivers

I received Hp upgrades and now it has made my computer exceptionally noisy and has also rearranged my desk top icons

HP or your antivirus software's regard for its updates caused the updates to clear out your fan/power settings and that's fan noise. If the hard drive keeps going, you'd better find out what that junk is using Process Explorer (downloadable from Microsoft) and probably get rid of that thing. It's probably just running some virus scan once, and all that CPU and drive activityr is necessarily turning fans on, really.
Still, it's like they throw stuff in with some abandon because of people whose machines had no antivirus, and thus are spamming without the owners' knowledge. Hard to blame them, eh?
