Click start control panel Administrative tools Computer Management Disk Management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes Automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in one box then select check now start then after its finished return and tick the other box you should not do anything while the chkdsk utility is in progress any input may damage this drive. You might get best results ticking in one box the returning after it has finished then ticking the other box it might take some time depending on the of your disk but be patient. Hope it helps.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

External hard drives NTFS not mounting on Mac

Reload the NTFS driver that came with the HD. If that driver is corrupt, the disc will mount but you will be able to exchange files.

Xp crashed

When xp doesnt boot up and tells you that "following file is mising or corrupt"
just put your winxp cd in, reboot, startup recovery console and type chkdsk. This will start scandisk and after checking your drive and fixing errors you reboot and evrything should be fine. By the way try typing help in the recovery console for more commands if you want to..

last but d least call to hardware professional and reinstall new operating system..

Not able to boot press F12 lauch startup repair (30 second) I have to wait keyboard not responding then windows is loading files and start bipping error

first, recover your files. You will need to use something like this data recovery program.
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Asoftech-Data-Recovery/290956907592436?sk=info

I've had to use it many times in the past but in this case you need to plug that drive into another system as an external drive or slave drive and run the software from there. It will rebuild the drive and hopefully recover the files.

After you get back your files, you can then format the drive and reinstall your system.

By right clicking the mouse to the selected corrupt file, and selecting delete. If it so happen that one of your program has a corrupt file like movie maker or so, you can delete them thru add and remove software. This is how--- Click start, select control panel, then select add or remove program. Now this will display all installed program in your computer. search for the program that does not run anymore, then click remove. Be careful when doing or selecting a program to delete, for windows might need itto run properly. Have a nice day Friend, hope this would help you.

Hi.

Yes you can start the re-installation from safe mode although you can start the installation by changing the boot order to CD-ROM in the BIOS configuration.

Before you re-install XP it is a good idea to back up all your data to a slave or storage drive first as a clean install will wipe all your data.

If you would like to know anything else please post back.

Regards.

One of my 7K1000.C drives has extensive but minor corruption. I use QuickPar to make parity files in case of such corruption but I was quite upset to find 90% of my mp3s were damaged. Those which I had...

The best way to fix & prevent it would be to move everything off of it and wipe the drive clean and do a full format, not a quick format. The other thing could be, depending on what type of system you have and if its overclocked it can cause data corruption if the Pcie frequency is set above ~110. I have three of these without a single problem, with about 8,200, 8,080, and 5,400 hours on them.
