Question about HP Pavilion a305w (DM181AR) PC Desktop
My H.P. started turning off randomly and now turned off and started beeping. When I turn it on it does nothing but beep. It is about 5 years old and runs windows xp.
The POST (power on self test) is failing which is why the pc is beeping. As stated by knotbeerdan, I would need to know how many beeps. Most of the time it's either something laying on the keyboard pushing doewn on the jeys, the keyboard is unplugged, or it could be completely different. I would say the reason it's restarting itself is the power supply is going bad. Typically that's the issue when they restart, though at times it could be something else causing it.
