Question about Tomtom ONE GPS Receiver
Device is locked on screen, map won't work with this device, tried holding button until drum roll is heard but still won't reset
There seem to be numerous users that are having similar problems with this model. I suggest you contact TomTom user support and let them walk you thru the steps to resolve the problem.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Powers on then off is usually a sign that the battery in the unit is no longer holding a charge, i would suggest that you check the battery and make sure that it is holding a charge and if not, change the battery out, these gps units have a dead circuit in them, if the battery is no good then usually the unit will not turn on, also for testing purposes if you pull the battery then try powering up the unit it may turn on, if this happens then you know the battery needs to be replaced.

SOURCE: continually returns to demo mode
I had to contact TomTom to answer this, their advice was:
On your device tap the bars that show the strength of the satellites. Then top right tap the clock and hold for 30 seconds.
I tried this but it didn't make any difference to me, but I thought it may help other users. I'll let you know when I get any further advice.
