Nakamichi mb-1s CD player has an er message

According to the manual, I'm just supposed to turn the unit off and back on to reset. But nothing happens. The same ER message returns. Any idea what to do?

SOURCE: I have a Nakamichi MB-10

That machine resets when you unplug it from the wall for more than 15 minutes. If the Er message still appears it's because the unit detects a damaged part when powered. Since the first sign of error has been a noise relating with the disk trays then most likely the problem is there, with the tray mechanism.
You will have to open it again and access the mechanism to identify the broken part and if it's repairable.

Nakamichi cd cassette player 1 not spinning discs

There's a Music Bank 7-disc player in use in my bedroom these days. Nice unit, but they used to come in for service once in a while- from what I could tell, these units don't 'park' the CD drawers on a soft power off- they simply shut down. When powered up again, they sometimes let the disc last in play slide off the tray & jam the machine. I've had no issues, as long as I always hit stop, wait for it to park, and then shut off. The analog output's sound has been very good (has a coax out as well).

Nakamichi MB-70 CD player - cannot get cd to eject

Having just removed three discs from an identical unit which also jammed, I will say how easy that was. I do not know if the unit will now function when reinstalled in the vehicle.

Remove the unit from its mounts, remove the outer "frame" (if fitted), remove the two #2 phillips pan head screws from the sides holding the face to the chassis, remove the four #0 phillips screws (black, flat head) from the top and bottom of the face plate.

Slide the face plate off and carefully handle it while tethered by its ribbon wire.

Turing the unit upside down, peer into the opening and observe the disc, gently press the carriage away from the top of the unit (now the bottom, as it is inverted) and allow the disc to be freed, simply pull the disc out.

If there are multiple discs stuck inside, oberve the large metal gear just inside, carefully rotate the gear to actuate the loading mechanism as needed to release addtional discs.

Error message

Check and see if there is a fuse on the back of the unit if so check it to make sure that it is not blown. Also make sure that it is at least a 25 - 30amp fuse. If that is not it the make sure you have the power wires hooked up right. See a Er-05 message means that the power that that unit needs is not there. So it will not read all cd's. It takes more power to read a burner than a normal cd. Hopefully this helps
