Try ordering from SEARS. Need to know model number and style of eyes; hard-wired or plug in back. Why do you think you need eyes. They last unless garage floods.

Garage door won't close with remote and I have to hold the pad to make it go down, however it opens just fine.

Your safety reversing sensors must be connected and aligned correctly before the garage door opener will close. An obstruction in the path of the sensor will also cause your door to not close.

This sensor is an electronic beam, which is sent between two sending and receiving "eyes". These eyes face each other and are located just inside your garage door. They may need to be adjusted so the beam from the sending eye is properly detected by the receiving eye. Once the receiving eye "sees" the beam from the sending eye, a green indicator light will glow on the top of the eye. Tweak them a bit. If both lights do not come on you have bad sensors.

I have a craftsman garage door opener and I have to hold the button down in order to close the door. The door opens fine and the sensors are clear. The unit starts to close then stops, the lights start...

When you can close the door by holding down the wall button it IS the safety eyes or wiring.

If the eyes are mounted to the track. Many times the track wll move as the door closes causing the eyes to move out of alignment.
Watch as the door moves down and see if they need to be adjusted.

If the eyes are not both lit - they are out of alignemnt or have a wiring problem. try adjusting them and see if the lights come on. - if not check the wiring

Hope this helps

I have a craftsman garage door opener that the photo eye stopped working on so I replaced them but upon hooking up the new set they do not light up either. What else may be the problem/solution ??

Make sure the wires are good and not shorted and that they are connected correctly. The solid white wires go to terminal 2 and the white wires with the black tracer go to terminal 3.

Genie garage door will not close if safety photo eye sees sunlite

Most photo electric eyes have sensitivity settings. A small dial or screw that can be adjusted.
If there is none, then another trick would be to recess back further from the actual opening, and put is on the wall as far as possible.
Finally, you could add a tube to act as a sunshield. They probably have one that can be special ordered for it.
And it even that does not work, consider taping a sheet of polarized film over it, like a single sunglass lense.

New eye sensor not lighting up when installed

Make sure the sensors are pointed at one another. Also one of them should say "sending unit" and the other is the "receiving unit". Did you buy them new and from a dealer?

Replaced door sensors now door will not go down and light flashes

The safety eyes are either installed wrong, or you have the wrong type. Craftsman (liftmaster) has what they they call old style and new style safety eyes. You can not interchange the types.

Garage door opened, won't close

If you can press and hold the wall button and the door will go down, you have a photo eye issue. Check the photo eyes at the bottom of the door.
