Re: logitech webcam 3600 not working on yahoo messenser
Well... once i have faced the same problem as the webcam will give this note to others (persons webcam is not available) and to u ( webcam is not connected) and as i was in a net caffe i ordered a new webcam and it says the same although i have reinstalled the webcam softwear and so i have changed the computer and it also gave me the same problem, i got out of yahoo and went to check it on lifemsngr and here u go the same problem , i changed it to skype and oovoo but it worked and also when trying to take snapshots and so on it worked so after all this story it seems that sometimes yahoo do have a problem due to a busy server..... try it on oovoo or skype and tell the the results. but in mind that it might work other time without any complications.....

Firstly you have to install the drivers of the webcam on your PC. That you seem to have done as you can see yourself. That means that the camera is being recognized by the PC. Now to get it to work with Yahoo, you have to tell Yahoo to use this camera as default camera while you video talk. To do that you must go to Yahoo Preferences and->Video. There you must specify this camera as the default camera. Save settings.
Now you would be able to video talk in Yahoo. To use it with other IMs like Skype etc, the procedure remains the same. Problem in computing is that each and everything has to be told how to do what.
Have your computer check for viruses, install an updated antivirus program and clean your computer. After cleaning from viruses, reinstall your webcam driver.
I hope it will be fine now.

I was having the same problem until I updated Skype to its newest version and it seems to have helped. Something else I did was remove programs I didn,t use and old videos from my computer and probably that helped too. Hope my info will solve your problem.
Try the following:
1. Install the latest drivers, which will have support for Vista. Your drivers are probably ment for XP and below.
2. You could also try with an installation guide for sound and video. Most IM has this function, i.e. MSN Messenger.
