Is there a (o-)-----+ or (o)---- (-) symbol near the DC connector?
and does it say how many mA is needed?

Standby light flashes and the reciever wont turn on, how do what must i do

Hello Tony
the problem is in the power supply circuit
the DC detector identifies the problem and wont start unless you repair it.
the internal supply +15v -15v these 2 regulators and the capacitors around it makes this problem.
if you know how to service it, its easy if not, you have to take it to a technician to do it for you.
Good luck.

Ac/dc TV. Can I unplug dc lead and plug in ac adaptor to use ac power?

Some ac/dc TVs are supplied with separate power cables for the desired use. It is best to use the recommended ac adapter rather than a "generic" adapter.

I bought a campact disc player (Durabrand; Model CD-896; made by Lenoxx Electronics Corp) which did not include AC adaptor. Now I am trying to find a matching adapter (DC: 4.5V 500mA). Can I find it on...

Power supplies with those specs are common online. Radio Shack could probably set you up with a universal power supply that adapts to all the common plug sizes.

web search "4.5V 500mA dc supply"

My remote speaker system works with the batteries but not with the AC adaptor plugged in to the speaker.

I would suggest to check AC outlet first where adaptor is pluged in,if Ok measure output voltage from adaptor to see if there is any (using any voltage multimeter with AC/DC)
Check label on adaptor shold be writen AC or DC output ,and value 3V,6,9,12,24,48 etc...
If adaptor is ok then problem is power jack mounted in to the speaker (cold solder joints' or damage)

I need a 15V AC to AC adapter for ouir Audio Source home theatre subwoofer. Can you help? I can easily find 15V AC to DC and the only 15V AC to AC power source cables I can find are for Toshiba...

Sure! An Audio Source Sub power adapter is $38 +$9 shipping from this seller. It's importnat to know the power requirements of the device in either watts or amps to choose an adapter capable of serving the load. Otherwise, it might be too small and cause a fire. This one looks like it is like the one supplied originally.

I hope this helped & good luck!!

These loudspeakers are being powered by a Crown 801 amplifier and constantly blow tweeter diaphragms. Can you tell me why?

Here are some possible reasons:
The amplifier has more power that the tweeters can handle.
Momentary DC or clipping at the output.
Too much high boost settings (from equalizer etc).
These are the common causes the tweeters to blow out. If you need further help, clarify me the speakers / tweeters brand / model.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.

Sony ICF-7600 7Band power adapter polarity question

Hello Xiar, Yes the center pin is positive. You have to use any regulated 6volt DC adapter. It may be a good ideea to put a 6v regulator (xx7806) after the adaptor bridge. I have a icf7600 fm/mw/sw 7band receiver too and I`m looking for the service manual or the pcb layout for it. If it by chance you have it mail me at Regard, Alex

My tecnics Amplifier Model # su-v98 has no power. I've checked all cords

Try these test, the only common possibilty would be the transformer and the power supply if both channels are out.You better to check both the positive and negative voltages from the power supply to see if both are present or if one or both are missing. This would be dc voltages of approx.20 to 40 volts. The positive voltage must be equal to the negative voltage, with the exception of their polarity. If one higher than the other, the regulator in power supply is busted already. The transformer can be checked for AC voltage before the power supply. This reciever uses a single power supply so the problem would be,common to both channels. You better change the regulator and checked some capacitor near the regulator.
