a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I've actually just bought a new keyboard and mouse (Today!) because I could not get my advent ade-ad2 to work at all on vista, (Previously had it on my xp).
Thought I'd give it one last try as PC world were no help this morning and previous internet searches were no help either.
Soooo. after the usual on/off...push in little button on underside etc.etc...the only thing that I did different was press the "wake" button on the keyboard.
Bloody hell, it worked!
New keyboard going back tomorrow!

I ignored the "doesn't support your OS" and rebooted. I then got the information icons (scroll lock, num lock, caps lock) on the taskbar. I'm happy with that.

HELLO, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TO DOWN LOAD THE SOFT WARE THEN PLUG IN THE USB AND AFTER THAT ON YOUR RECIEVER CLICK THE CONNECT BUTTON ON THE RECIEVER TILL IT RECONIZES BOTH KEY BOARD AND MOUSE I HAVE THE LOGITECH WIRELESS SYSTEM AND I LOVE IT TILL THE BATTERIES GO OUT ON THE MOUSE OR KEY BOARD LOL THEN RESTART YOUR COMPUTER.

First, permit me to ask, why are you wanting to get to the BIOS battery? If you have reset the BIOS from within the BIOS itself, pulling the battery will afford you little more -- except for the pain and aggravation of getting to it (it is located on the motherboard, which entails COMPLETELY disassembling the computer to get to it.)
Your problem may be another issue -- drivers for instance. Have you recently upgraded your system to Windows Vista or Windows 7?????
You may just need to reinstall the drivers (provided you haven't done a recent OS upgrade) You can download most of the drivers you need from here:
Give these a try, and provide more information in your problem description -- we maybe able to help resolve a problem a lot quicker and easier than you thought!

make sure the battery is good (has full charge)also you might test the usb device for the mouse is inserted correctly into the usb port (if applicable) restart your computer repeatedly tapping the f8 key to enter safe mode while the screen is black once in safe mode where the only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you to attempt to repair your computer then if your mouse works
click start right click on my computer select properties device manager control scroll to mice and pointing devices you might see a yellow question/exclamation mark? ! or a red X right update driver hope this helps you
