You did not specify the version of XP that you are running.
I will assume it is x86 (32-bit) Home or Pro.

Try this ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_4520/vista/Applications/AcerEFM%20%20Acer%20Empowering%20Framework%20%20v2.5.4006.zip

Did you also try using the drivers on the CD that came with your Acer 4520?

do a google surf for the drivers using the key words
