SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I need Q1 transistor for 135 hobart welder

The transistor is mounted on the main circuit board, you cannot buy the part from Hobart or Miller, they only sell the complete circuit board.
If you can read any part numbers from the transistor you can purchase the part from a electronic parts supplier.

GIANT WSE 200 amp ac dc tig welder

Buy a new circuit board as it will be cheaper in the long run as the solder has damaged vital parts on the board. It will take a lot of frustration in fixing all parts .

Wire feed problem with snap-on mig welder

There are two wires comming from the circuit board to the wire feed motor. You can try running the motor directly from a 12v battery or two for 24 volts. You might want to look at the name plate on the motor to check the normal DC current it draws. If you do not have an ammeter, you could use a fuse close to or just under the normal current. If it runs and draws too much current, then you know you have motor problems.
If it runs well and draws a fraction of normal current, you know the motor is good. Before you condem the circuit board, check that it is receiving the correct input voltage. If the welder is dual voltage, then somebodys mistake making voltage change could send 240 v to the board that is meant to receive 120v.
Hope this helps, Robert

Old AC180T welder has a weak arc no weld

Are you using cored wire? Or shieldgas? if the later, you may not be getting any to the gun.

If you are using solid wire without shield gas, you will get what you describe.

In the off chance you are using the correct combinations, you may have a loose connection in the circuit that adding resistance to the circuit and lowering the effective voltage at the tip. Make sure all connections are tight inside of the machine as well as the cables and gun assembly as well.

Need wiring diagram for buffalo 110 amp. arc welder

They do not make it available. So a generic wirefeed such as this http://www.northerntool.com/downloads/manuals/628575.pdf will be reasonably close.

Rarely will the circuit board schematic be shown. If however your wire feed circuit stopped, usually it is the SCR's that fail and they can be replaced with comparable units, or even higher voltage and current ratings than the original within reason. http://www.digikey.com is a global vendor.

When i press the triger on my snap on mig welder the relay clicks but roller for wire does not turn

Check what the voltage is for the motor- it should be 120 VAC- but check to make sure as the only real test other than a continuity test of the winding is to apply power directly to the motor itself.

Chances are either a fuse on the circuit board failed, or the SCR's on the circuit board failed. There is only a remote chance the speed control potentiometer failed- this should ahve a resistance between 1K and 10K across the outside terminals and should vary from 0 to that value as you turn knob.

The SCR's can be ordered through http://www.digikey.com

If in any doubt, or the number on the SCR has been removed order 800 volt 10 Amp normal SCR if there is a pair of power devices on the board, or a Triac if a single power device.

T1 or T2 may be in the early stages of failure from shorting out. If you are getting a burned varnish smell that persists around the welder, that is the likely cause. Check open circuit voltage, it should measure around 24 volts. If you only measure 12 volts, the bridge has failed.

Otherwise, open it up and check all connections to make they are sound. There is a protective device on the bridge rectifier across the terminals to the ground clamp and gun. This device may be failing in a short circuit mode. Or the bridge rectifier may be failing.

In the event it is the bridge that failed, a workaround is to construct or provide a 24 volt supply to the motor speed control, move the AC connections one to the "+" and one ot the minus terminal thus bypassing the bridge rectifier completely, and use the welder as an AC welder. Or alternately a new one can be constructed from 4 high current rectifiers.

How would one attain a replacement for the main circuit board

The main control circuit for the welder has gone bad....cost about $198.
Might be better off to buy a new welder.
