Question about Canon imageCLASS MF5550 All-In-One Laser Printer

Open Question

We just shipped a canon imageCLASS MF5550 to haiti and went to set it up. It doesn't have the proper amount of toner in it (pretty much empty) so maybe that's the problem. It tells me that toner is low but then it says "motor error" and "Scanner error" even though we just wanted to try to copy something to see if the unit works before ordering toner in the US and having it brought down. What can I do to get rid of those error messages or is something wrong with the copier/fax/scanner? (I was told by the woman who donated it that the copier worked fine but the scanner didn't work)

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: canon pixma MX310 scanner not working

I read somewhere that the printer/scanner must be plugged directly into the computer in order to scan.  I tried it, and it works.  Printing can be done wirelessly, but apparently not scanning!

SOURCE: trying to scan, but keep getting error code

I finally got a solution to my problem, which is the same as this one. When trying to scan via USB, you have to make sure the unit is set to USB. On the top panel just above the LCD display, is 3 buttons, Copy, Fax, Scan. Hit the SCAN button, till the display says USB SCANNING. Then try to scan again. Good luck!!

SOURCE: I have a Canon imageCLASS MF3240 Laser

Go back to that site, but use this link...
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=335&modelid=12943

Choose Windows Vista (x64) from the Select OS drop down box.

Download and install the driver. It will work then.

Won't feed the paper

the problem with your machine maybe that the default paper size programmed into your machine. My guess is that it is set to legal size{ 81/2x14} Get your owners manual out and see how to program the paper size in the user settings sections.
