SOURCE: PRESSURE RUNNING TOO HIGH
Most filters are rated to 50 psi..although 35 does seem high. make sure that all of your returns are open..could be a valve, or have some other kind of blockage. Although rare, check valves can get stuck closed, so check them, too.. If you have a white one that is solid get rid of it and get one that you can see into..jandy for instance...
Just as a rule I always install a bypass on any heater or heatpump. It will increace the life of the heat exchanger by years.......

If you already replaced the gasket and upon opeing the valve, it is still in the grooves, look for a crack in the valve body and/or diffuser.

I can relate so well to your problem. My pool is surrounded by pines and deodora trees... all the needles seem to find their way through the baskets, strainers and into the inlet of the pump. It became a daily routine of having to reach into the inlet and clean the debris if I wanted a filtered pool.
Here' s a solution that will work!
Purchase an extra debris scoop ...the kind you put on the pole and scoop debris from the bottom of the pool.
Cut the net out of the frame and wrap the netting around the skimmer's debris basket and secure it with an oversized rubber band or zip ties, then replace the basket back in the skimmer.
Your skimmer will keep the debris out of the pump!
This will make a world of difference in your pump's pressure!
Give it a try and see if you're not working better!

Testimonial: "Thank you very much I will give it a try. I know this will stop the debris for sure. Again thanks"
Pump motors used in most pool aplications can not be reversed. Changing the wires on the capacitor or reversing the line connections will not change the motor rotation. A failed capacitor can, from time to time, let a motor start "backwards" but it will not happen often if even at all. You might need to take the motor to a local electric motor repair shop for an inspection.

most of the time its the start capacitor or a dirty start switch. the start switch can be cleaned with the striker off a match book use CARE not to bend the switch , the switch is in contact when motor is starting and open when running... look for free pool pump motor testing in you area and see if they can test the cap for ya as it requires a special meter to do THE TEST RIGHT ! and you might need a shaft seal when all is done. good luck// jay the pool pump repair guy FLORIDA
