Reset drum HL-4150CDN

How do i reset the drum counter after inmstalling a new drum unit?

Normally clearing the drum count the machine has to be on open front cover as if to change the drum press and hold the button in for about 10 second then release and shut the door. This should reset the count if not please get back to me and I'll check the service manual to see if anything in that.

Reset the drum counter as follows:

  1. Open the front cover.

  2. Locate the control panel button under the LED lights on the left side.

  3. Press the control panel button until all lights are lit, then release it.
    The Drum counter is now reset.
  4. close front cover

hello, first did you follow instructions of reseting machine when you replaced drum, if not here is the istructions, with machine in ready state, press go button and up arrow at same time, the reset parts life comes up, use up arrow or down arrow to scroll thru to drum replacement, press the ok button when you get to drum, the machine will have drum unit ok?, press okay, machine will cycle and reset drum.

Have you recently replaced the drum?

  • The Drum LED blinks if the drum unit is near the end of its life. Use the drum unit until you have a print quality problem, then replace the drum unit with a new one.
  • The Drum LED continues to blink if the drum counter was not reset when you replaced the drum. To reset the drum follow the instructions below:
  1. Open the front cover of the printer.
  2. Press and hold down Go button for about 4 seconds until al the LEDs light up. Once all 4 LEDs are lit, release the Go button.
  3. Close the front cover.
Reset the drum counter only when you replaced the drum unit with a new one.

Product is Brother HL-4150CDN laser printer. The LCD display is saying Replace Toner (Back) I have 2 black toner carts available. One that I slightly used previously before swapping it out with a new one...

Had this same problem on the same printer. Here is the solution.
Open the front cover of the printer and press "Cancel" & "Secure". This will access a secret menu that will let you reset the toner counter. There are 12 settings in all (3 per color).

Caution! Reset the drum counter only when you replace the drum unit with a new one.

To reset the Drum Counter:

1. Press the cover release button and then open the front cover of the printer.

2. Press and hold down the 'Go' button until all four LEDs are lit. Once all four LEDs are lit, release the 'Go' button.

3. Close the front cover. Make sure that the Drum LED is now off.

f the Drum LED is still lit after replacing the drum unit, the Drum counter may not be reset.
