As the above, mine was working one day. Then next day it failed to activate the Ipod. The blue light on remote responded to key presses, but nothing happened. Bought new battery to no avail.

JBL manual says to reset ipod but I don't want to lose my settings and wifi after all the trouble setting it up-especially if that does not fix problem

I've got the same issue. Remote worked fine this weekend. I tried to use the remote today, and while the orange and blue light on the remote worked fine, the dock/iPod did not respond to any of the remote commands. I replaced the battery, and still nothing.

open the remote case, remove the battery tray and look into the remote opening. Near the back, you will see a silver battery bar. Pull this forward to make sure that it is contacting the battery. This solved my issue.

Open the case and remove the battery tray. Look into the back of the remote and you should see a silver bar. Pull this toward the opening to make sure it is contacting the battery. This solved my issue with intermittent work/not work issues.

Turn on the JBL with the ipod in place, turn off at the mains plug, turn back on, turn on your JBL and the remote should work.

I suffered the same inconvenient situation regarding my remote i-pod (touch) relationship. Oh... and even after the above recommended solutions failed time & again... What a waste... I soon stumbled upon the misbehaving diagnosis of what i was experiencing.. Whilst performing an extensive brainstorming session on my balcony, clutching a smoke as result of frustration. The thought of removing and simply inserting the same battery to successfully insure functionality was as phenomenally impossible to me as much as this might sound to you. Eureka...!!! For some inexplicable reason the remote is now perfectly compatible with both i-pod (touch) & JBL Radial... If the above mentioned solutions inevitably proves disappointment, see if this works for you...!

I had the same problem, my dock was broken, but I got round it instantly by plugging my ipod into the speaker via the headphone port on the ipod and into the audio in port on the speaker. When new, the speaker actually came with a spare lead as you can plug any mp3 player into it this way. The sound quality seems exactly the same and I dont have to throw away the speakers, hurray! If you have lost the lead you need a 3.5 mm male to male headphone lead, just pence in any electrical shop or amazon.

No picture on television when connecting s-video outlet from JBL radial and showing a film or pictures on a docked i-pod touch.

Hi, I have this problem and when I spoke to JBL techical support they told me that Apple have changed their software on the New Nano and the ipod touch and of course the iphone and regrettably the radial does not support S video for these products. I'm told it will work with first generation ipod classics. PS: i had to carefully cut off some of the plastic plug to make sure the connection goes all the way into the back of the radial

My jbl radial, when using a 120 gig ipod, will skip songs.

Not a solution but mine sometimes causes my ipod to skip mid-song to the next song or podcast as well. JBL customer service is usually good and I've been meaning to check with them since I finally figured out it's the radial and not my ipod.

Compatability with 4th gen nano

I have had exactly the same problem having bought a JBL Radial Micro for my partner for Xmas for use with the Ipod Nano, i contacted JBL via their website and was advised to contact Harmen on 01707278100. I was advised that the new ipod nano (chromatic) would not charge on the JBL radial micro. They stated that this was due to Apple changing the charging pin in the new nano. I have since bought a JBL Stage III. I contacted Harmen before buying this and was advised that the Stage II would not work. Hope that this is of use.
