I put the baking soda in a small glass and place the glass and beads in a closed container, such as a cardboard box. I have also heard of people putting the baking soda into an old sock. Exotic dancers frequently tie some soda in a small patch of fabric and place it inside their bra to keep the beads from picking up odors while they dance.
Or you can have a change to buy some gem beads, that's easy to keep without any bad smell.

Some plastic beads do have quite and odor - to help get rid of their smell try this....

  • Place the beads in a seal tight container lined with newspaper.
  • Pour the beads in the container (making sure that the container has extra room to accommodate the beads and the newspaper. After you pour in the beads, wad up a few pieces of newspaper and place these wads in the beads. Seal the container.
  • Leave the beads in this container for a couple of days up to a week. (shake the container at random times during the day to help move the beads around) The newspaper helps to neutralize the odor in the beads.
  • If after a week it still smells, you can renew the container with some fresh newspaper and leave them sit . (the need for changing the paper really depends on how strong the smell is. You may want to refresh the newspaper after a few days if the odor is super strong).

This technique also works well for getting bad smells out of containers themselves. Such as a piece of plastic wear that absorbed the onion smell from the onions stored in them. Just wad up some newspaer, place it inside the closed container for a few days to a week and viola! Your container should be smelling a whole lot better.

Should I buy a beaded rope?

A beaded rope is one made out of nylon with plastic beads along it. It can be used on any surface including concrete and it won't destroy the rope. I just started jump roping recently and got one of these because it doesn't get tangled. Also I can hear the beads hitting the ground which helps me keep my rhythm.

We have the Craft Couture bead kit but we are missing the directions. You are supposed to place the small plastic beads in a holder to make a pattern and then iron over it to make it all fuse together....

You should be using Parchment Paper. We used Wax paper too, but it doesn't work as well. Ironing times vary depending on how much you want them to melt. We have melted some to the point they no longer have the holes in the middle of the beads and others just enough to stick the beads together. The barely ironed ones tend to fall apart eventually. The fully fused and melted ones are permanent.

Smell in kitchen water

Is your supply line plastic or copper? If its plastic then that can absorb a smell. There is nothing in the icemaker that would make it smell. You may need to replace the supply line and the inlet line that feeds the icemaker. Is there a smell in the kitchen faucett?

Bad smell old food in unpluged refridge

The smell has permeated the plastic, set a fresh box of baking soda in the fridge. Give it a few days and clean it with awesome or murphys oil soap. You can also use comet cleanser but if to much rubbing will scratch the plastic.
