Question about Sanyo EM-S8000 Microwave Oven

1 Answer

Turntable mechanism is not working

My Sanyo EM-S8000 Over the counter Microwave oven strted making a weird noise about a week ago. Now the turntable will not turn when it is on. The turntable actually turns freely so I figure it has stripped one or more gears inside. This is a very heavy piece of equipment and I would rather no have to lift it off the wall to get to the mechanism. Can you tell me how to get to the mechanism so I can analyze which parts need to be ordered. Thanks.

Didn't want to hear that we were going to have to take it off the wall, but your advice was excellent.

You will have to take it off the wall. There should be three screws in the cabinet above the unit . 1. unplug unit 2 place a large towel under unit to protect stove or cabinet 3 have someone support unit while u remove threee phillips screws 4 the back will hang on the wall rotate down lift and remove. the turn table is usually ran by a rubber belt and motor. Hope this was helpful please rate me

Turntable doesn't spin

Well the table might not be on the revolving piece- that is what happened to my microwave oven, or the revolving piece might have to be connected to a belt inside that turns it

The microwave facility in this multi function Sanyo shower wave oven EM-D993 has ceased to work. Everything else does.

When you hit Start to cook, do the inside light and turntable come on?

Any unusual noises? Is it louder or quieter than usual?

These answers will help me judge whether it's in the high voltage section (magnetron, transformer, or diode) or the control section (door switch or control board relay or connection).

Microwave turntable does not turn

I have the exact microwave you do (ems8000w), the motor failed and I found this one worked perfectly as a replacement.

The original is impossible to find.

GE Spacemaker JVM1631BB005 making noise

Many thanks to e3enigma above! I removed the synch motor under the turntable; all other microwave functions work fine and the grinding noise is gone, hooray! A trip to the appliance parts store tomorrow for a replacement synchronous motor and all should be well. Thanks again!

SANYO EM-D9550. Turntable turns when off but not when cooking.

That's sounds pretty strange!

Since I don't have any service data on Sanyos, I'd have to speculate.

I would guess that one scenario that could cause it would be if the turntable were turned off via the control panel, but there was a switch or switch mount problem.

I would refer you to their support people:
