That depends on engine size, obviuosly that switch goes to the high pressure line, If your engine is a 5.2 or a 5.9,then you dont have the switch ,If you have a 4.7 then you have the switch, where is it at go to the power steering pump, you will see 2 lines the one that attaches to the resovoir that the low pressure and there is no switch there, the other line that goes to the pump and curves and is metal line thats the high pressure line follow it and there is the switch, plus if you filled the system up and started the vehicle and fluid shoots out there you will find where you have to put the switch at.

What is power steering pump switch?

If it is hard to steer, I don't think that switch is the problem? More likely the power steering pump or rack/pinion. Just my opinion.

Usually that switch is to help up the idle, so the vehicle doesn't stall when turning at idle.

Power steering doesnt turn, is it my power steering switch???

Hi Chris, the concept of power steering in cars and trucks should read POWER ASSISTED, this means if your power steering fails, you can still steer the vehicle unlike some machinery and tractors that have full power steering which the steering wheel will just spin when the engine is turned off with no connection to your wheels, If your steering wheel does not turn it is a mechanical problem, steering arm jammed pitman arm in the wrong position or something like that. remove the pitman arm off the steering box and see if it will turn. you did mean that it won't turn at all and not turn easily like power steering should

Power Steering Pressure Switch 2000 Dodge Neon

Power steering pressure switch is shaped somewhat like a spark plug (a bit too fat) threaded at one end and having a cylindrical plastic body at other end. It is on the hose connecting the power steering pump with the rack and pinion.

I have power steering fluid leaking from the sensor's plug-in to the power steering pump. Where the 2 wires connect into the housing. Is it the pressure sensor? If so, how do I fix it?

TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERING PRESSURE SWITCH.REMOVE SIPHON OUT POWER STEERING FLUID BELOW THE PRESSURE SWITCH.UNSCREW THE OLD PRESSURE SWITCH AND SCREW IN THE NEW POWER STEERING PRESSURE SWITCH.MAKE PRESSURE SWITCH HAS THREAD SEALER ON IT.IF NEW PRESSURE SWITCH THREADS ALREADY HAVE SEALER ON THE THREAD DONT NEED TO USE TEFLON TAPE TO SEAL THE THREADS.BLEED POWER STEERING SYSTEM.

How do i change the power steering pressure switch on my 04 dodge ram 1500 hemi? I can't find it.

From the Factory Service Manual, you can get one relatively cheap from www.promanuals.net. Here is a link to your 2004 Dodge Ram Service Manual.

The power steering pressure switch is installed in
the power steering high-pressure hose (Fig. 9).

(1) Disconnect electrical connector from power
steering pressure switch.
(2) Place a small container or shop towel beneath
switch to collect any excess fluid.
(3) Remove switch. Use back-up wrench on power
steering line to prevent line bending.

Where is the power steering sensor located on a 1993 ford ranger 4.0 super cab? (or is it called the power steering pressure switch?)

The power steering pressure switch as its called threads in to the power steering pressure hose most of the time it is close to the power steering pump, I have also seen them at the lower point of the pressure hose close to the rack and pinion.
