Mouse is most likely dead. you can switch the mouse properties so that the right key acts like the left key which requires uses of the window key on the keys board to access menu then use tab keys and then arrows keys to move to control panal the tab and use arrow keys to goto mouse and select switch primary and secondary button...but if your not into that just buy another mouse they re rather cheap

How to force an Apple computer to eject a stuck CD or DVD

Most of us have experienced it at least one, and if it hasn't happened to you yet, it's just a matter of time: a damaged CD, a failed DVD burn, or an unrecognized disc just won't eject from the Apple computer's disc drive. Here's a simple solution to force that stubborn CD out. Note: this tip requires a restart, so be sure to save any open files before proceeding.<br /><br />(1) Save any open files and documents and quit all open programs.<br />(2) Click on the Apple icon in the top-right corner of the screen and select "Restart." <br />(3) Click the "Restart" button on the message box that pops up.<br />(4) As soon as the screen turns black, before the computer begins rebooting, click and hold down the mouse button. See step 4(a) for more details about this step.<br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">(4a) If you have an older model trackpad, click and hold the trackpad button. If you have the new, button-less trackpad, click and hold down the trackpad itself. If you have a two-button mouse, click and hold down the left mouse button. If you have a wireless Bluetooth mouse, click and hold the left mouse button (though you may not have success with the MagicMouse; use a wired USB mouse if you have one available).</span><br />(5) Keep the mouse button held down until the CD/DVD media is auto-ejected from the drive.<br /><br />If the CD still remains stuck in the drive, there is a more serious problem at work, and the assistance of an authorized Apple technician will likely be required.

Gateway Laptop with windows 8. Mouse pointer gone and won't come back

See if the mouse pad has been accidentally turned off. This can be done via the "Function" button on your Gateway laptop. To enable your mouse clicker again on your Gateway, head on over to the "Control Menu" in Windows and double-click on the "Control Panel" icon. Click on the "Mouse" option under the "Printers and Other Hardwareicon1.png" tab. In the next menu that pops up, click on the tab listed as "Device Settings." From this menu, you should be able to locate a listing for the mouse pad on your Gateway laptop. Click on this listing. From here, you should be able to enable the mouse again. Click "OK."
  • Head over to the official Gateway site online (see Resources). The above enabling of the mouse device under "Device Settings" may not have worked. Make your way to the "Software and Drivers" area of the site.
  • Check over your Gateway manual and find your specific serial number for your machine. Enter the number into the Gateway site when prompted and check to see if any driver updates exist for your mouse on your machine. If so, click to download the update, and then double-click the file on your computericon1.png to install it. Restart your Gateway laptop to have the changes take place. Your mouse should now work.

Note: If either 'Borderless Printing' or 'Duplex Printing' are enabled from the Page Setup tab, grayscale will be created using a combination of the color (dye) inks to prevent smearing.

Hp laptop keyboard won't type "b n 1"or ''tab esc'' other keys ok..

Either your keyboard cable needs to be reseated or your keyboard is going bad and needs to be replaced. The keyboard cable is under the keyboard and it attaches to a slot on the motherboard. You'll have to partially disassemble the laptop to get to it. Hopefully you're not having this problem because you spilled a liquid on the keyboard.

Here's a fail safe alternative. Bring up google's website www.google.com and in the search box type "download.cnet.com" (without the quotes) and click the link to go to their site. When the site comes up look immediately to the left and you will see a gray area that says Find Software. Type in "free virtual keyboard" (without the quotes) and click the mirror to search. It will bring back a page and the Free Virtual Keyboard is listed first. Look to the right of it and click the Download Now button. Download and install it. Once it is install you can look in Start/Programs and right click on it and select Pin to Start Menu then right click again and select Desktop (Create Shortcut). It's a neat keyboard to have just in case your real keyboard goes bonkers. You simply click on the letter with your mouse pointer that you want. It has all the functionality of a physical keyboard. You can open a web page, place your mouse in the address line then bring up the virtual keyboard by clicking on it from your desktop or start menu and it will sit on top of whatever you were trying to do. You can move it to see the typing area as you click on a letter. It works the same way if you opened a word document. In your case anytime you need the space bar, just click on it.

My mouse and think pad do not work

There are 2 possible answers to this common issue, the first is that the aspire has a mouse lock. check your keyboard on the function buttons for a picture of a mouse with a line though it, hit function and at the same time press the mouse with the line through it and if its locked off this will turn if back on. The second answer is driver issues, if the first suggestion dont work I would go to the Acer website click on downloads and drivers and enter your model number. Then download and install your think-pad and mouse pad drivers and install.

The magnifier pop-up icon plus works but the minus won't work. The google help in google docs is so large that it overlaps onto itself. I'm working on a Toshiba Satellite L635---Help???

    Hi,

Connect an external mouse then press and hold the CTRL key on the keyboard. Just scroll down the scroll wheel located in between the left and right click buttons on the mouse and it should zoom out the page.

    Hope this helps.
