Question about Canon CanoScan 8600F Flatbed Scanner
I just installed my CanoScan 8600F on a new computer. When I try to scan, I get an error message that says, "Specify the program where the scanned image is transferred." I don't understand what this is asking for.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Sounds like the CanoScan is looking for a photo enhancing/utility program. Programs for this purpose are Adobe PhotoShop, PaintShop Pro, ACDSee, or even the simple Windows Paint.
Additionally, the CanoScan Toolbox might have a basic photo utility program. Normally basic photo utility programs like this are included in the CD installer of a scanner, a digicam or even most color printers.
Hope this be of some idea/help. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.

"Link Scanned images to..." refers to the programme you want to open the file. Navigate to the .exe of your preferred viewer

You need to install the software drivers You need BOTH programs installed on your PC, Toolbox & Scangear. Also use the driver remover first. Then unplug scanner, reboot, install Scangear first, and toolbox second, then reboot, when at desktop next time, plug in the Scanner. Hopefully it should be all good. Read the Help file. http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010219.asp

I know for me...when I scan a document, a program pops up with options. Of course the program is provided by canon.
Try visiting the Canon website and download their scanner software.
Hope this helps :)

SOURCE: have just been given a
Whichever program you wish.
MSPAINT comes with the operating system, so you may want to point it there until you get a better program like photoshop or corel photopaint.
