    Turn monitor on, 2 or 3 seconds later, the monitor goes black.
    It will stay on for up to 20 seconds some times.

    Had the same problem; sent it back to the manufacturer for repair. 6 months later (after the warranty was expired) it started to do the same thing. I don't recommend this product to anyone.

Bad capacitors in the power circuit for the inverter power supply, replace these and everything should be alright it requires soldering skills or I can do it for a fee. It can also be transistors but much more likely it is capacitors.

Monitor STFC (Self Test Feature Check)
* Turn off the monitor
* Plug the monitor power cord directly into the wall socket to remove any surge protectors or APCs from the troubleshooting equation
* Unplug the monitor video cable from the back of the computer
* Turn on the monitor
* The floating dialog box should appear on screen against a black background. If the issue appears during the STFC, the monitor is defective. Get it replaced.

Moniter goes black 2 sec after i turn it on and when i turn off then back on it stays on for 2 sec then goes black again

Look for bad caps, shorted out transistors, cold solder joints. You will have to do in-depth troubleshooting and you need to narrow down the problem to find out if it is the lamp assemblies problem or the inverter/power supply problem.

Screen Comes on and goes blank within 3 sec

Look for bad caps (bulging/leaking tops) in the power supply first, it may have taken out the fuse and transistors in the inverter circuits also.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Moniter lites up for about 1 sec, then goes out.

Hello

Sometimes you can get a good incation because the tops have domed over. However, the best method is to take each out of circuit and test with an ESR meter. Even though it's unlikely, other components can cause this same symptom. For more info see my website: www.micromendllc.com

Good Luck

Elbtax,
Click start > right click on "My Computer" > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager button > Display adapters > Right click on your device and select uninstall and re boot your computer. Windows should pick up your adapter and re configure it automatically. This method should Fixya!
Good luck, and let us know how it goes.
