Question about E-Machines etower 633ids PC Desktop

1 Answer

How can I upgrade my etower to an adequate gaming cpu?

I've never upgraded or worked on computer hardware but I've been wanting a computer for gaming for awhile and, if possible, this seems to be a better alternative to buying a pricey new one.

Sorry, but the specs for the PC noted just won't support today's media rich, robust internet, and not to mentions games. Any hardware upgrades will eventually lead to a new system.

SOURCE: want to upgrade e machines 1300g-02w

I have found that your built in graphics card can have a maximum of 128MBs of shared memory. Now your computer can only use a maximum of 4GBs on a 32-bit operating system but not all of it will show due to virtual address space http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/platform/server/pae/paemem.mspx/
if you want to get the full 4GBs you would need to get a new graphics card and disable the integrated card as well as get a 64-bit operating system as of now your processor suppots it. Since you are wanting to get a better faster processor it will need to be 64-bit if you are getting the 64-bit operating system. Here is where you can get a really good new processor: http://www.fadfusion.com/selection.php?product_item_number=10026806136 if you are wanting a faster one then I will look further.

SOURCE: My computer suddenly starts racing like it was speeding. It starts and stops continously

Clean the dust from around the fans, the vents, inside the computer and around the cpu and heatsink. Take a can of Compressed Air, remove the power cord, remove the case and blow the dust out. The dust is making the fans work harder.

I have a Gateway DX 4850 and would like to upgrade the motherboard. What are my options?

Maybe you are looking for a Gamer PC? However that consists of building or buying a whole new system, because this mother board seems to pretty good. Actually the whole system is fine. It supports and has some of the latest hardware. Besides maybe the i7 CPU, and possibly a better video card, I don't see where an upgrade is warranted.
Here are the specs I found, so if you system differs please state so.http://support.gateway.com/s/desktop/2011/gateway/dx4850/DX4850sp5.shtml

Supermicro x9dai won't post, beep, boot or much of anything else

this motherboard won't work with latest v2 cpu's from intel , until you upgrade your bios to 3.0 version.(you must plug your 8pin conector for cpu's , both of them !!!!!).So you must start the mb with an older cpu , then upgrade bios .

Upgrade HP Compaq Presario F750US - CPU, GPU & RAM

You'll spend more money trying to upgrade this laptop then it would cost to just buy a better used one on eBay. Probably even spend more that it would cost to buy a new low end computer. Save yourself the headaches and time and buy a NEW laptop.

Here is a link for your computer's manual:

Follow the procedures outlined and be sure to clean the surface of the heat-sink (alcohol works) and reapply thermal grease compound to the surface of the new processor.

Hello there! I wanted to upgrade my ACER ASPIRE T180 Mobo: MCP61M-AM-6A61KE11C-00 I want to upgrade the stock CPU : AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3800+ Into an AMD Anthlon 64X2. Am2+ socket also...

AM2+ mainboard will mean that you will be able to install AM2 and AM3 CPU's. That includes Athlon 64 X2 and Athlon 2 X2 to X4.

My advice would be to look at an Athlon 2 X2 250 3.0GHz CPU at least. It will be able to run on DDR2 or DDR3 RAM, it depends which socket you install it in. AM2+ is DDR2 and AM3 is DDR3.
Try and get an AM3 mainboard if you can it is worth it, ASUS is good. However then you may need new RAM. You may want a new Graphics card as well. Go to a computer store or use the net to look around and learn more about the AMD computer. Computer stores build special gaming computers, very good looking and great performers. It all depends on your budget.

Take care and Happy Gaming!

Upgrade for NEC COMPUTERS INTERNATIONAL MS-7168 1.0 mobo

There is no limit to what you can upgrade your CPU too, although your mainboard has socket 939, so your CPU should be the same.

I cannot advise you wether or not it would make your PC faster, for that I need to have more specs and the kind of thing you use th PC for. (video-editing/games/casual)

I hope this helps,
Yannick.

Asrock p4i65g motherboard

Your current motherboard is an mATX form factor. I recommend staying with that form factor for your new motherboard if staying with your current case. When upgrading to the new board you choose don't forget that you may need to upgrade the power supply unit also. You should upgrade to either a socket AM2+ board with dual core amd cpu or socket 775 board with Intel Duo Core2 cpu.
