To start, ensure that you have turned off the LCD TV and disconnected power cord for two minutes, then connect HDMI cable to Sagem box and restart first box, then TV. This will reset the TV.
The TV is supposed to handshake and accept the box signal automatically (for that reason there is no settings), setting itself to proper definition. If this does not happen, then the TV may be defective. Test the TV using different devices that may use HD signal (console, BRD etc.).
On the Sagem box all you can check is PAL/NTSC settings.In Europe you use PAL, but the Sony TV may be able to accept both settings.
If the TV is still giving the problem, and the problem occurs with different HD devices, get back to Tesco and get it replaced (you have one year warranty).

The hd box does not have hdmi over ride unlike the scart output. You havent said if this is hd ready tv if so most TVs will stay on the same av/hd input.

It not the tv,u restart the Sky HD box the signal come back right?The Sky HD box is the problems,replaced the box,u will solved this problems.
