Try setting the BIOS to default, then rest the settings.

You can try to re-flash the BIOS version just before the latest version.

The Wz number you posted does not match a 655.

Read the manual carefully about how to flash the BIOS.

Look in manual for clearing CMOS, if you have it, clear CMOS, set BIOS to default, and reset, if this does not work, re-flash the next to oldest BIOS version, if you have (example) F23, then flash to F22.

After bios update no display on toshiba L455D-S5976

It sounds like you updated with the wrong BIOS or a BIOS version that isn't designed for your specific model laptop. You will have to revert back to your old BIOS version.

I have acer aspire 5500z notebook it has been shuted down during the bios update i want to repair the bios because whenever i turn it on it gave nothing but black screen any idea

Before I explain about the troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue, let me first give you a brief information about the BIOS Updates.

The BIOS Updates or any Firmware Updates are those Updates which will be installed in the Hardware chipsets.

For, example the BIOS Update will be installed in the BIOS Chipset.

It is required to extreme precaution which installing such Firmware Updates.

It is required to keep the Computer ON while performing these Updates.

If these Updates are not installed successfully or if the Computer is turned OFF during the Installation procedure, this might lead to a Hardware failure.

Hence, for such issues it would be better to get the Unit examined at the Authorized Service Center.

In this case, as the Computer was turned OFF while installing the BIOS Update, the issue might be with the BIOS Chipset.

It is required to get the Unit serviced at the Service Center.

The BIOS Chipset will be flashed to resolve this issue.

This will be done by the trained Technicians at the Service Center.

Hi, i was carrying out a bios update on my toshiba equium A60 laptop. it dicided to freeze on me, i tried to turn the power off this didnt work i ended up removing the battery. when the battery was...

That does not sound good. If the Bios update was incompleted and the BIOS ROM was erased then the computer might be dead. You would need to take it to someone who can pull the bios chip and re-burn it using a device or burn the bios to a new chip and then install it. Whenever you are updating your bios you are taking a risk and that is why they tell you to only update when you are having computer problems. And never update a Laptop on battery powern alone. I am not saying that you did I am just giving advice.

Having a Bios update fail is not a good thing. Typically, it renders your laptop motherboard useless as the bios is embedded on a chip. Try this:

Use FN+B while powering on. Hopefully it will enter BIOS recovery mode. From there you can try to flash either the same or older version of the bios. You will likely need a floppy drive too.
