Question about HP PAVILION A6230N DESKTOP PC
I want to remove the hard drive from my old HP Pavilion a6230n and install it as a second drive in my new HP Pavilion p7-1414. Do Ihave to remove the mother board to get to the drive cage? Can't see how to get the drive cage out.
No you have to remove the media drive cage from the front the panel comes off. then pull on green tab to remove it completely then you'll be able to reach the harddrive

The drives come out through the front of the case, meaning you have to take the front off.
This is a link to the upgrade manual for yout machine, you will nned a pdf reader like Acrocrap to view it.

My Pavilion a1357c has only one screw on the open slider panel side, excuse me it only has screws on one side. Your only venue is to loosen that bracket until you can get access to that screw. Good luck my friend,Dana
