Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
Unable to find dmd chip for this item. any optoma dmd chip will work ?
No they are not type in dmd chip in serarch engine one option will probably come up something like albinia.com they have many different chips you will need to get yours out to find the number on it if you are not familiar with dissasembling simalar electronic devices may be more than you are looking to get into also even used chips that i have seen for sharp projectors run about $125 bucks

Possible cause is overheating.
Do you hear the fan working?
What happens when you use the lowest level light output?
Does it run longer?
Also possible cause is a faulty temp sensor.
AC wire connection may not be firmly pressed in socket.

Most laptops have the ability to send the image to the screen, the projector or both. Switching is often a combination of the Function key and one of the functions (eg F5) The particular key may have CRT/LCD on it. Pressing this combination of keys once, twice or three times cycles between the three options mentioned above.

SOURCE: Help! Our Optoma DLP
There is a lense behind the main focus lense that's causing this. Flakes of the colored tint are coming off causing white light to shine through. If you look at your projection, you can see black spots as well, these being the flakes that have re-located themselves. I dug into mine deep enough to diagnose this, to actually replace the little lense would be a little tricky. The unit has to be mostly disassembled. Also I haven't been able to locate a vendor who sells the part. Optoma wants you to send it in so they can do the repair, and won't part w/ these component level parts.
