Question about Vertex Radio Communications

Programming vertex standard 160

I'm trying to program a vertex standard, yaesu, vx-160. I have the ce-44 software, and ct-42 cable. I'm running windows 7 on a macbook pro via parallels. I have the correct driver for the cable. I am able to connect to the radio and upload the information from it, but I get a data error when I try to download to the radio. I have slowed my processor down and adjusted the bits per second to 1200. Does anyone have any experience programming these radios with windows 7? My understanding is that the port settings maybe too fast for the radio, but I cannot find the proper settings.

What version software is the CE44, version 1.0, 1.08 or 2.0 ?
remember alot of the software out there for vertex is regulated for dealers only to download frequencies, uploading is no problems, read as much as you like.
also
if your connected via usb with port 1 or 2, then move to number 3 or number 5 and rename the port to number 3 :) then try it

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Vertex programming problems via USB

This probably doesn't help, but sometimes a much slower (older) computer will work where a faster (newer) will not. The Motorola's are notorious for this. Others, too. USB is USB, a standard--so that's not your issue.

How do i put a program in to my Vertex Standard VX-929 VHF 136-174 Mhz radio handheld portable transceiver

Nice commercial quality radio. You will need a commercial radio shop to program it. Otherwise you need the particular programming cable and software for that radio to do the job. The fact that you are asking this means that it more than likely it is beyond your area of expertise. If you searched the web for programming software and also programming cable you might succeed . Otherwise order both from Vertex USA, www.vertex.com. Much easier to go to a shop, BTW you need a valid FCC business or GMRS radio license to transmit.

I need Ce82 for free to program my VX2100, Please Help!!!!!

You also need a cable. It is a business band radio and you should have a shop or tech. Help you so you do not violate FCC Rules. It could be programmed for Ham use depending on the model. Last, you need a current CE82 version because if you get an older CE 82 version than the radio was programmed with last, it cannot be reprogrammed with the old software. Best regards

Vertex ce82 on my laptop says ce92win power on radio trying to program vertex 2200 mobile radio

Hi Shawn,

The problem is on the screen for you to see.....

You need to downgrade your CE OS to Win CE82, else you r Vertex software won't work, but downgrading is futile, so unless you can get hold of a friends Pocket book PC running Win CE OS 82, you may have problems.

This is a Win CE Operating System fault rather than Vertex software fault.

You say laptop, Win CE OS is for the smaller Pocket Book PCs as far as I'm aware.

If you're running that OS on a laptop PC, that can cause you lots more problems.

I hope this answer clears up the issue a little.

Regards,
Peter

Dealers do not pay for this software. It is just not company policy to allow end users access to programming TX frequencies. CE91 is available through dealers to end users for programming RX Only Freqs.
