a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

What you need to is Down Grade to windows xp 64 bit. This is what the system was really designed for trust me i bought mine back in april. and after 2 months of dealing with best buys idiots who know nothing other then commission on what they sell and some pakistani guy telling you that you voided something and it worked when they sold it to you. i Delved heavily into the mod scene to see what i could to do with my 1,300$ paper weight. After much searching and forum scouring i got all the drivers i needed to get back to xp 64 bit. right now my system only consumes 342 mbs of ram. i have the graphics card overclocked to 1084mhz using 177.66 forceware drivers from nvidia. i have absolutely no issues playing any games be it halo 2. crysis. age of conan. and my personal favorites the half lifes. i eat through games like its butter and online play no lag whatsoever on good servers. only issues for me is i am a 3d artist and have a couple of speed issues with renders inside of maya 2008 64 bit and zbrush. small stuff like plane clipping and overlay of desktop showing through when fully maximized. believe it or not thats it. i dont give a **** what people tell you about the sagers and the alienwares. My p6860fx scores around 12356 on 3dmarks06 but that program is just a reference for the uber dorks who hook up like car radiators to theyre computers trying to get a number that means nothing. its all about your jaggies thats it. the reason your laptop runs hot is because Vista is retarded and doesnt know how to manage anything even its self. if you look at your processes most of them are vista pinging microsoft trying to fix it self and it takes priority from you the user since microsoft is trying to get more feedback for sp2. ok hope this helps someone

Your power management in Windows is corrupted. I would do a system restore to an earlier date.
Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore.
On the Welcome screen, click Restore my computer to an earlier time, and then click Next.
On the Select a Restore Point page, select the date from the calendar that shows the point you'd like to restore to, as shown in Figure 2, and then click Next.
On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, verify that the correct restore point is chosen, and then close any open programs.
Click Next if you are ready to proceed or click Back to change the restore point.
The computer will shut down automatically and reboot. On reboot, you'll see the Restoration Complete page, and then click OK.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

This is the classic signs of a Virus.
You need to recover your data, format and re install your operating system.
If your computer suddenly switches off when you move the computer arround then it could be
your Power Jack that is faulty. Check diagnostics at: www.powerjackrepair.com

SOURCE: Computer Shuts Down Randomly
is the fan running.... check how hot it is on the bottom.... could very likely be thermal shut down... if it gets to hot it shuts down before there is any damage.... see if you can remove the shield around the fan and clean out the dust and dirt and in my case cat hair. if you can't figure out how to get the cover off let me know... i should be able to find the service manual for you

Alongside cleaning out the fan, try use your laptop on a hard surface, not your lap! Don't put anything like a pillow underneath. Use it on a flat hard surface and the heat has chance to escape!
