Question about Televison & Video

Open Question

I have a brand new HP envy m6-1125dx laptop with windows 8 on it. I am using a brand new HDMI cable to connect it to my Emerson LC320EM9 television. The video just pops right up and everything is fine. The sound doesn't play on ANY device. Not my laptop, not the TV, not headphones plugged into the laptop. I'm not very computer savy but I have tried reading several different solutions on google, all with no luck. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: wall mounting emerson lc320em9 television

I don't know the model in particular, but most of these sets can be wall mounted if you have the screw holes for the mounting plate in the back of the set.

What I believe the tech was telling you would be that it is best to not wall mount the set. The reason is that we found that we have been seeing a higher failure rate from sets being wall mounted. This is because the surface of the wall reflects some heat back in the set, and thus causes it to internaly run warmer. This is also the same from running a set inside of a cabinet. The complete surface area behind the set being very close to the wall surface blocks cooler air circulation. It is best to run these sets on a stand that is out in the opened at least 1 foot away from any wall surface.

SOURCE: Sharp Aquos LC-26D4U sound problem

Well, apparently this is a huge problem with many flat screen TV's. They surpress the volume output from all external sources (like DVD players) so you don't blow up their tiny speakers. They just expect you to add on a home theatre system to boost the volume their small speakers cannot handle. This is a real problem if you are in a boat or RV and do no have the space or electrical capacity to do this. I had the TV checked out and Sharpe said it met their factory standards so there was no help there. We have had to go with a small amp & speakers just to hear the TV & DVD movies etc. They need to put better quality speakers in these TVs. The video is awesome, now work on the audio guys!

SOURCE: Sharp Aquos LC-32B20E wont display a PS3 output via HDMI

kitconnolly,

I too went through this problem.

Step 1 - Plug in your "composite" cables and the HDMI cable to the PS3. Obviously, the "composite" cable are the ones that came with the system. You need to start with them as the default connector.

Step 2 - After connecting the "composite" cable and the HDMI cable to the PS3, connect the other ends to your TV.

Step 3 - Power on your PS3

Step 4 - Select display settings-->video output settings

Step 5 - Change from the current video cables to HDMI. (Your tv has different inputs. When you switch to HDMI in the PS3, you will have to switch your TV to the HDMI input that it is connected to, to get a picture)

Step 6 - Be quick, the PS3 will display a "test" for 30 seconds. You need to switch your tv to the correct HDMI input and press "X" on your controller to accept the change.

Let me know how this works for you.

SOURCE: TV wont detect HDMI Devices except a pc.

Something is wrong whith the HDMI jack it's self, or the electronic switching is not sensing a signal is present. In either case the board that has the HDMI jack you are using needs to be replaced. Most all these boards are double printed, Multi-layered or both which prevents replacing the jack it's self. I do have a question though, do you only have on HDMI jack on the unit or do you have another one available.

Emerson hdmi not working

Double check to see if your TV can support the resolution that your laptop is using. You can try reducing the resolution on your laptop to one supported by your TV.

If the laptop is configured to use the HDMI port as a second (in Windows 7, you can configure multi-monitor support in the display preferences) you will need to adjust the resolution for that monitor.

Failing that, try rebooting your laptop with the TV plugged in - I have found in some cases that this helps the system to propery detect a new display.

I just got a 32" Emerson HDTV, and I want to connect it to my PC ( E-machine, windows XP, Pentium 4) to be able to watch movies from Netflix. Can anyone help me PLEASE? I would really appreciate. Thank you...

so u 1st, must find a vga port on LCD or HDMI port, then u must have a right cable, to connect LCD to anything you whant (PC, Xbox; PS3, so on.
Note:(u must have the same connector kind instaled on PC,.... The LCD connector VGA/HDMI or Scart/RCA dont have compability each other.)
2nd Read the specifications on VGA Card on PC , PS3 or XBox, as same as LCD input connector (resolution range)
