Hello.
If its brand new, it might be possible you have received a faulty unit.
Please sent it back to the company to get it replace for a new one.

I am trying to download music to my computer and it does not have a sound card. Do I need to install one in order to download songs to my Mp3?

you will not need a sound card in order to download the mp3, you just will not be able to play it from the computer, but how ever you plan will work just fine, only downfall you won't be able to screen the song to make sure it is a good mp3 before you transfer it to the mp3 player

In car usb conection wont work

It appears this stereo is compatible with a limited number of mp3 players. I had the same problem with my Ford Edge Sync option. See if you can get a list of compatible players from the manufacturer/ dealer. If not, try different mp3 players until you find one that works reliably and purchase one.

Mp3 player

First, plug it into your computer using the USB cord that should have came ith the player, then goto "my computer" or "computer" if using vista, then clik removable disk, or the name of your mp3 player, if there is a folder or directory called 'music' open, and drag the music in there, if there is no music folder, drag the music in there.

Tried putting the songs into different folders with less than 500 in each folder? May not have enough memory for more?

Unit wont stay powered up

Check for overheating. Place the unit in a large plastic bag and place it in the refrigerator for 1/2 hour. Don't allow condensation to appear on the unit before powering it up, the heat will evaporate any potential condensation. Put moisture absorber or rice in a paper bag in the plastic bag for safety to absorb any moisture. Then power up. If still inoperative check for DC or AC voltage on speaker connectors. If one side is different, or if DC appears on the outputs, audio output may be shorted. See if plugging in headphones stops the problem, some units disable the audio outputs with headphones plugged in.
