I am having the same problem with the dell inspiron 2600 hard drive password. My sister put it in there when she stayed at my house, now I can't get into my own freakin computer. Please help???

Hard Drive is now password protected thanks to my sister. Please help me unlock it, she doesn't remember what she put in there for a password.

Have you tried resetting the BIOS defaults? In doing so, it will force IDE re-detection and often resolve vague boot issues.

Hdd password lost need master code

Roger B,
Dell does not put any passwords on hard drives and does not have a master password for the hard drive.
The hard drive is possibly defective and will need to be replaced. If your computer is asking for a hard drive password and you did not add one to it just hit enter.
Thank You,
Dell-Jesse L

Dell provides lifetime tech support for all PE servers. Call them at 800-945-3355 and give them the service tag or express service code from the server. If it can be done, they will tell you how.
