We finally bought a new wall charger cable and the batter issue went away. Apparently, she was resting the tablet in her lap with the charging cable plugged into the port. This eventually created a short in the charging cable and the result was battery charging issues.

Hi it seems a lot of people are having the same problem including me. If you turn the device off and plug it in it should charge. That is the only way my charges.

Same battery problem. My 8-mo old Note 10.1 (GT-N8013 / Jelly Bean 4.1.2) started running out of juice faster & faster then the other day, it wouldn't charge beyond 1%. f plugged in, it will work for a while then shut down, the charging icon shows constantly charging when shut down completely to recharge. I get the message, it's broken alright :-( So it's the charging cable &/or its giant plug & NOT the battery itself that's the problem? I don't know what's meant by having to switch to a different charger.

How can I get my Samsung Galaxy Tablet to turn on. The battery is fully charged.

There is usually a method such as holding the on button for a longer period of time. If it is easy to do the other thing that I've found with all sorts of "smart" devices which turn "not-so-smart" is to remove the battery for a minute or so, then put it back in. Many times the unit will turn on as soon as the battery is reinstalled and work correctly again after that. Last ditch effort, unless someone knows about the Galaxy, is a hard reset, there may be a reset button somewhere on the unit, I don't think the Galaxy has a reset button. If the unit still does not turn on it may need servicing.
1. Try the on button for 15 - 20 seconds if you know it is charged
2. Try charging for an hour or two then the 15-20 second hold on button, #1 above.
3. Removed battery (I'd measure the battery voltage while I have it out) wait ~1 - 2 minutes & reinstall the battery. If it doesn't turn on by itself try #1.
4. Nothing works start a service ticket with Samsung, URL:
http://support-us.samsung.com
You might try searching there as well for an answer to see if there's anything I missed.

My battery isnt charging even though it says it is.

Try a different cable and a different charger if you have them. Also try just connecting it to a PC's USB port. Of course, the PC has to be turned on. Even though it will say that it isn't charging, it will charge very slowly this way as long as you're not using the Galaxy Note the whole time. So try that over night.

If none of those work, then you may have a bad battery in your Galaxy Note. How old is it? If it is still under warranty, you may be able to get it repaired for free.

Samsung battery wont charge need to reset it

If the cell phone battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

Why is there a red cross on the battery icon of galaxy tab though its fully charged?

I studied my galaxy note 10.1. when i use the original wall charger it charges well, fast an no red cross appears. when i hook it to the usb of my laptop then the red cross apears and the tab reports that it is not on battery ( look at the time on battery it does not change) the battery also remains at the same charge level that it was when i hooked it up. when i use the car charger it does the same as with the laptop. my conclusion is that when hooked to the car and/or laptop the battery does not charge, but the tablet is running of the power from the external source and not the battery. this seems to be a very clever move from samsung to preserve the battery when it cannot be charged by the device it is hooked up to.

Hello Sir !! I am afraid to tell that your battery might be got damaged by over charging.Electronic devices must be unplugged when the icon comes "Battery is Full" or like wise.Over charging damages the efficiency and produces extra heat that reduces the strength of charged battery.I suggest you to unplug the tab as soon as it got charged. It might increase your battery timings.
