Just installed a Rheem RTG-95DVLN. Tried turning it on but all im getting is the # 82 flashing & beeping incessantly! Anybody know why or have any suggestions? Im completely stumped...

According to Rheem trouble shooting, at the end of page 61, error code 82:
Error Code 82
Explanation: Gas Type Control Data Failure; Printed Circuit Board data failure. The PCB has not
been programmed, lost its programming or has failed.
5. If the unit does not operate on initial installation or after replacement of the PCB, then the
circuit board requires programming with the fuel type and altitude chip.

Code c776 on a rheem tankless hot water heater. How do I disconect the remote and let water heaterdefault to 120 degrees??? I have the UMC-117 remote. Also any way to put a thermostat on this thing to...

The remote is hardwired to the tankless unit.
Turn power off. Open front cover, and locate wire connections and disconnect. Turn power back on. Open hot tap and see if unit works at 120 degrees F default temperature. If not, then problem can be PC board.
Typical schematic showing remote controller connection:

Some tankless units have built-in freeze protection.
I live in Texas and did following to protect my outdoor water heater: Thermostat controlled heat tape around pipes, and build a box around water heater out of styrafoam, and then put light bulb inside styrafoam box. I hooked up 120Volt mechanical thermostat to light bulb circuit.

New batteries keep losing their charge, also when running sounds like it loses all power then in a split second it stays running

sounds like an over draw on system
computers need min 10.5 volts to stay alive (working) other wise they shut down
i would start by charging batteries fully and disconect from vehicle for 24 hr
then re check before hooking up if they staied charged batteries are good
then hook up bateries negatives then hook up a voltage meter to performed a parasedict
test other word in series to positive cable on wire and other to battery positive if draw is high
on meter start removing fuses on at a time until voltage on meter drops
you have know located source of draw that is killing batteries know diag that problem
ex . under hood light staies on........glove box stays on.......aftermarket stuff inproperly conected
good luck

Rheem 40 gal. elct. have 220 at both elements all the time but only one drawing?

Your testing may be off here. Or you might have special order 'simultaneous' wired water heater.

Water heaters with two elements are 240V.
Elements test for 120V at all times, but with ordinary non-simultaneous water heater, only one element at a time has 240. This is called non-simultaneous operation.
Open links below for understanding of water heater operation.

If both elements were drawing 240 at one time, then upper thermostat is bad, or else your water heater is wired for simultaneous operation, and one of the elements is burned out.
Your tank might be wired for simultaneous operation, if water heater was special order from Rheem, or if somebody changed wiring and set lower thermostat-and-element on a separate circuit breaker.

If you have simultaneous operation, then you would have 2 circuit breakers and 2 wires going to water heater or one 50 amp breaker with 8 gauge wire to heater. If this is the case, then both elements could test for 240V and one of the elements is bad, and thermostats are ok.

If you have ordinary Rheem water heater, then it is wired for non-simultaneous operation where only one element is ON at a time. This is called non-simultaneous operation and you can check because water heater has one circuit breaker rated for 20 or 30 amps.

Rheem elements are 4500Watts.
If both elements were ON at same time, that would be 9000Watts, which would trip typical water heater 20-30 amp circuit breaker.
9000Watts divided by 240 volts = 37.5 amps
So if upper thermostat is bad, and it is turning on both elements so they both test for 240, then thermostat is bad, but also one of the elements has to be bad.
Or test is inaccurate.
Interesting puzzle.

Remote is displaying C7 76

Contact Paloma/Rheem customer (800-432-8373) support and notify them you are getting a code "76" error. Rheem has recently extended the warranty on the "Burner Control Assm."; which is your problem. The C4-C8 portion of the error code, is where the unit stops the ignition process...burner fails to light, or gives you intermittent hot water. In either case, contact customer support. However, I do have a detailed process on how to repair the printed circuit board yourself. Any further questions, you're welcome to email me at .

Good Luck, if this has helped you in any way...please indicate so.

Rheem RGPH 07EAMGR keeps blowing 2A 250V fuse from transformer to circuit board. I can't find a short and the fan will come on for a 20 seconds then the fuse will blow again. i have done this 4 times(i had...

99% of the time proves to be a short- in the thermostat, furnace, condenser, or the 24V wires between them. Time to get out an ohm meter and check continuity between the wires and between each wire and ground - detective work - can be fun!?
Much less likely: condenser contactor, furnace control board, other condenser controls any of which could be drawing too much current. I bet on a short curcuit but if not I'd try changing the contactor first I think.

Cannot print onto CDs

Firstly - check that the CD draw at the front is fully closed. Sounds daft, but many have been left ajar and caused the fault. If the draw is fully closed and you have opened and cl;osed it a couple of times, then there is a problem with the switch that is use to detect the draw opening. Check that the contact point on the printer body is intact as per image1. It is possible it may have been broken off. The other possibilities include the switch (located within the draw itself) is faulty, broken or not conected. In this situation you would need a service manual to disassemble the draw and test the switch/cables. If all else is ok, it may suggest a faulty main board in the machine. Look for a manual at if you intend to dimantle the machine
