Could be but before that check if settings are working. Set the freezer settings to coolest and see if cools. If ok, set to desired temp.

GE Profile Refridgerator side warm, freezer ok?

Fridge gets cold air from freezer to cool it. Your freezer is fine but not enough cold air is getting into fridge compartment. U have some dampers or louvers that direct air flow to fridge and if they are not set properly cooling will not be adequate. Check those out.

Whirpool wgi fridge freezer, fridge not cooling?

Most frideges get all their cooling from the freezer. There will be a fan and duct in the back of the freezer that pushes cold air down into the fridge. If the duct is blocked with ice or the fan motor has quit. Your freezer will work fine but the fridge will barely cool at all. Check that the fan runs when the compressor is running, ( turn both temp knobs to the highest cooling and leave door open until comp. comes on). If the fan runs your duct is plugged. If not you need a new " Freezer Fan Motor". Most are simple to replace and cost around $100.00.

Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

The ideal temp for the freezer is around 10 degrees F.
Look at the evaporator coils behind the rear cover inside the freezer and check the ice forming on the coils.

Fridge and freezer same temp.

First of all, there is only one thing that cools in a fridge and that is the freezer. The fresh food section is cooled by air forced into it from the freezer.
  • You ice maker will not work if the temp inside the freezer is above 5 degrees. It has a thermostat inside it that enables it.
  • The knob that turns the fridge off and on is the thermostat for the freezer.
  • The other knob opens and closes a damper between the freezer and fresh food section.
  • There is a fan that should be running that pulls air from the freezer into the fresh food section.
(The factory does make the discription of the knobs confussing)

Now. turn one of the knobs all the way one way and then the next. If it turns the compressor off, it's the thermostat. If it does not, try the other knob. Once you find the thermostat, set it in the middle of the scale. Now place the other knob the same. Check and see if you can either feel or hear the inside fan running. If so lets go to the back. This is where your compressor is. It is under the fridge and also has a fan that blows on it. You will need to remove the back bottom panel. See if you can tell if the fan is running. Also notice if the fan is blowing into a set if coils. You should also be able to fill the compressor, if it's hot, it's running. If these two are running, and you didn't see a coil at the fan. Take the front kick panel off the fridge and clean the coil that's under the fridge. If it's dirty, give the fridge a couple hours and see if it cools down. If so, this was your problem. If both knobs are set mid scale, both fans are running, the compressor is also running and the coils are clean. You most likely have a bad timer, compressor or thermostat. This is all that's left.

What is the purpose of two temperature control nobs when there is a single compressor in my samsung 280 lts fridge

1.If this is only a fridge the one knob will be for the min and the other for the max.
max. : As soon as you switch the fridge on it will cool down the fridge to max cool down temp. example -2deg.
min. : As soon as the fridge reaches the max cool down temp and it had switch the compressor off, the fridge will start to warm up slowly, by the time it reaches the min allowed warming up temp, it will switch the compressor back on and do the cycle all over again.
2. If it is a fridge/freezer setup, the one knob will be for the fidge and the other for the freezer. If the temp in the freezer is fine a fan is activated and blows all the cool air to the fridge and controls the temp. by activating the fan.
