Question about Radio Communications
I need the manual for a Radio Shack Weather Radio Cat. No 12-521. It keeps losing the signal gives a "check op" message and "signal loss".
Step 1:CHECK OP (Check Operation) means your radio has not received any type of
SAME alert signal (include test or demo signals) for about 10 days.
Make sure the antenna is fully extended and the stored location is correct. See
"Programming Locations and SAME Codes" on page 9 for more information.
Step 2:Here is a link to the manual

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Radio scanner not receiving
The Realistic Pro-2025 relies on a quartz lock-loop signal synthesizer to receive signals, the synthesizer might of gone bad, chalk it up to old age. The Realistic PRO (Progressive Receiving Occilator) models are not around anymore, they went obsolete years ago. It's nice that you have one, they are worth some money on eBay. However I'm afraid it will cost you more money to fix the synthesizer than the radio is actually worth. It would be best to use your Radio Shack PRO-49. Realistic is a division of Radio Shack founded by Tandy Corp, basically you've been using a Radio Shack scanner the whole time. So if you have any complaints, take it up with them, you won't find Realistic anymore.
Hope this helps!

You can get the manual for your radio at Radioshack.com. Enter your model number in the search field at the top of the home page at that site. The fips codes for your area can be found at radioreference.com. They may even be included in your manual. I know they are listed in the manual for my pro 164 scanner.
