SOURCE: spark plug gap

hi kathy. this is an easy one. first of all you will need a spark plug gapping tool, about a dollar at any auto parts store. Your chain saw most likely calls for PLUG TYPE: Champion CJ6 SPARK PLUG GAP: 0.025 in. (0.63 mm).

Here is the website of a short video to show you exactly how to gap the spark plug. write back if you need any more info.

SOURCE: husqvarna chain saw stalls

hi charlier 421

I think the small holes from the Venturi wall of the carb are clogged. To clean them you need carb disassembly.Near the needle there is a tehnological cover, under the diafragm(fuel pump).Taking off it you will see some small holes maiking conection with Venturi wall.Used ompresed air to clean them.

SOURCE: Husqvarna mod 41 chain saw wont start

If checking spark make shore the out side if plug is earthed to chain saw.
Fresh clean fuel, clean fuel filter filter pull exhaust off and check piston is ok. Than check for flooding. start there.

Wont start replced spark plug cleaned carb

If you have good fuel and a good spark it may be a mechanical issue, remove the muffler and check the condition of the piston face through the open exhaust port, any signs of damage or scuffing and it will need to come aprt to assess the damage, if all looks good it may be a crank seal leaking, the 36 was prone to blowing the seal behind the flywheel, also check the flywheel key in the flywheel has not sheared knocking the ignition timing out.

this new gas is a carb killer you will need a new diaphragm for the carb and there is a little screan next to the needle and seat that can be cleaned. about a 5.00 repair if done right.. use marine gas

Husqvarna 455 chain saw will not start

Check to see if you have a spark pull the plug out plug the cap back on it hold it to the head and pull the cord see if it sparks It likely will most of the time with small engines its the carburator and what it needs is to be cleaned they sit around and get used once every couple of years especlly two stroke engines tund to get gumed up If you can take the carb apart clean it with carb or brake cleaner blow out the passages and clean the neddle valve you don;t to mess with the adjustments and put it back to gether it will work like new

Describe your Husqvarna "Chain Saw -

Remove the spark plug and test for spark. If ok, try some starting fluid in the plug hole, install the plug, and try to start. If it runs a short time, it is not getting fuel. Check fuel lines including inside the tank. Clean or replace the air filter. If this saw is fairly old, the carburetor probably needs a re-kit and cleaning. Does it have good compression? Check the muffler for plugging. Make sure the fuel/oil mix is fresh. Good luck!
